It should be simple, like put players from the same level in the same match. It's not fair to fight a level 1000+ when my mate and I are level 60.
PVP Matchmaking
@drupachups what if there's no one of your level queueing? Would you rather not find a game?
There is matchmaking based on win loss ratio, but the window expands in favour of finding a game over time.
@hiradc first of all thank you for responding. like I said, it should be simple. eg. me and my mate have an average level of 75. so it should find us a crew that is between 65-85. if the game doesn't found a match suited for us, after a set amount of minutes it should change to 75-85, 85-95 etc. it makes sense when I say it so feel free to contradict. after all I have to grind for my rewards which I found fun at the end of the day.
Our matchmaking is a variation on the ELO system and takes into account yours crews wins/losses.
When you are diving and trying to find a match we have to match your region, ship size, faction and skill level.
If there are no suitable matches we open that up so you can have same faction battles as well as opposing, we also broaden the skill gap.
If we still can't find a suitable match the only thing we can now change is the skill so the net broadens. Priority is getting you into a fight so you're not endlessly waiting in tunnels.
We have to always keep your region and shipsize matching the correct types. As such you may sometimes face off against more or less skilled players.
No lvl matching. The likely hood of you finding someone of same or near lvl is 1/10000
That is to say the lvl is true. Many people with 1000 wins could of gotten it from the crew they were with before hand and now they are solo fighting, showing off there curse
Win or lose against these people is on you. Maybe just maybe your not as “skilled” as you think and like me will never find a crew that is equal or worse than you.
Just saying.

@Drupachups perfect response, hope that clears things up why it’s not so simple.
