I like going on fishing trips and killing the occasional Megaladon or Kraken, but I wanted to bring up a few ideas for giving Hunter's Call a bit more variety.
- Oysters and pearls! This has been suggested before, but that was four years ago, and watching the Castaway pull out a black pearl and toss it in the fire made me realize how glaring a gap there is in pearl-based treasure. I really enjoy finding shinies in the shallows around islands. Diving for oysters or other shelled morsels (clams, snails, abalone, mussels, etc) would take those fun kinda discoveries to the next level. There could even be giant oysters, with a chance for giant pearls.
- Spearfishing! This has aslo been suggested. There'd probably have to be a separate pool of fish that could only be caught with a spear, like eels, octopi, flounders, and the like.
- Bugs! Not that kind of bug. I mean butterflies, beetles, centipedes, spiders -- critters you might have to chase down and catch in a net.
- Land Beasts! Landlubbing (or amphibious?) minibosses that stalk some of the larger islands. You'd probably have to track them by footprints, chicken/pig/snake remains, and other signs to get them to spawn, and then kill them for their meat (and a valuable trophy).
