Galeophobia accessibility

  • My wife has Galeophobia and it would be great if they had an option you could check similar to the one that gets rid of the rats and the option that limits you to only X-Box only servers, that would let people who have a shark phobia play on a sharkless server.

  • The rats are just a visual. What would you replace the shark with so players don't randomly take damage from invisible threats?

    Dolphin? Barracuda?

    Let's not forget Megs...

Also, make an accessibility ticket as well as posting in the forums.

    Jellyfish? :)

    Scyphophobia?

  • @pithyrumble just floating cylinders.

  • Who doesn't have galeophobia??

It's so scary when you are swimming back to your boat and you get chomped on!

  • @pithyrumble Thanks for your reply! How do I make an accessibility ticket?

One solution might be to have servers that simply have all the sharks removed and then send only those with the option set to those servers.

  • @paparug420 She has it real bad. She can't even look at a picture of a shark without her heart racing and feeling sick. No way she can play this game with me :( which is sad because I think we'd have a lot of fun playing it together.

You could run a galleon to keep her out of sight of the sharks, the only shark then to worry about is a meg but they are pretty rare. She could turn the music down and stay mid deck/walk away/log out and in/ until you get the boat away from the meg, she can shoot to the middle of mid/large islands to explore and avoid small islands and beaches

Obviously it'll take effort and sacrifice but that is what life is full of anyway, it'll give her a shot at the experience.

I got bit by a shark IRL. His teeth got stuck in my wet suit.

He was about 12 inches long, cute little devil :)

  • @wolfmanbush That's what I told her but just the thought of falling off and getting attacked freaks her out

  • @wolfmanbush I appreciate the suggestions. I will keep trying to convince her.

yeah with the bugs and glitches it's definitely possible

imo I wouldn't convince her or try to I'd just keep it as an open offer and if she decides she wants to play the game then you can help out.

there are always other games without risk that yall can play

  • Tell her to stay out of the water lol XD

Splitting the community up? Maybe 5 years ago.

Now it is probably reconsider playing an ocean based game that includes ocean based creatures
