Allow our pirates to sing!!!

    Sea of Thieves has an amazing soundtrack and it’s a little disappointing we don’t get to hear those songs while sailing around.

    I suggested this before but I’d like to bring it back up with a few new ideas.

    Male and Female pirates will obviously have their own voices, we could sing songs while sailing around, or sing along in the taverns etc.

    I think this would be a really cool feature, it could work just like shanties and you could even play a shanty while you sing, but I would love to be able to have my pirates just sing without the shanties as well.

    Also, if a player is already singing near you and you try to sing you will just sing along like we do shanties, this will prevent players from singing different songs at once making it annoying.

    WE sing my guy! Get on the mic, open those vocal tubes, and get bellowing out an old shanty! Or hum along if you’re struggling to find a key ofc ;)

    I think having a dedicated voice for characters would probably break the immersion of what my character sounds like, and would feel out of place a bit.

    eh I think pass, the npcs have voices and that's enough, we have our own voices with proximity chat, and if we're forced to choose many people may end up with voices that just aren't like what they imagine their character to be like.

    Uhmmm.... Wait , you ask that other persons sing in thy name? Why don't you sing yourself , like with yer own voice , allthough hardly used by many , there still is a gamechat channel and singing makes people laugh , especially if you are a bit like me , knowing the tunes but not knowing the full lyrics , which you make on the spot , like improvising ... You would be amazed how much Alliances i 've been offered that way...

    Yeah I think it's a sensible design choice that our pirates don't sing. Your pirates voice is literally your voice, their lips even move when you speak! If you wanna sing, then sing. Not like pirates were widely known for their angelic singing voices anyway, or perhaps that's your pirates whole shtick, amusing friend and foe alike with their vocal wizardry?

    Having a pre-recorded singing voice all vying for attention over each other whilst an NPC is explaining story exposition to me sounds like an absolute catastrophe and bad time in general. Also the disconnect between me being my pirate and then pressing a button to talk or sing in completely different voice to my own sounds off to me, but that's just my opinion.
