Variations. Bosses

  • Here I’ll be speaking more about the boss's rework and adding more ideas about sea boss's and land.

For the boss's ideas I’m thinking the Phoenix , giant land boss crab or you could call it King Crab, and maybe something like a sea serpent.

For my elaboration on skeletons bosses, they all use the same attack either flintlock, blunderbuss, skeleton summoning or ground pound thingy. I think it is cool if they could have more personality if their special is shooting a cannon at the player's something amongst those lines. I don’t have an issue with the bosses that they feel copy and paste also in all other games I play they usually do different concepts with bosses adding some flavor to them.

Phoenix. The Phoenix is a fire-breathing bird that blasts your ship with fire. Feel like this would be most commonly found in devils roar but also anywhere else but with less percentage. For its attacks, I think it fires breathes, and perches onto the ship attacking people on board with claws and various other things. It’s special when it finds you it has a special that cut your masts with its wings. The color of the Phoenix will vary on crew size 1-2 players be normal orange, 2-3 be blue and 3-4 be fire hate red size also increases but not too much. The idea of this bird is that it be somewhat similar to meglo it charges at you low enough for you hit it with your cannons. Also, it’s health is considerable very low compared to other bosses since it’s a flying enemy. When killing it drop random Loot and Phoenix chicken which can be eaten or turned into hunter call. I like this idea of the flying enemy , fits the sea of thieves vibe perfectly along with it. This would be a rare enemy along with it won’t be as common as the meglo.

Giant crab boss. This would be a land boss when you dock your ship at any certain island it has a very small chance to appear when it use its claws to cut your masts making sure you don’t run. The giant crab will have claw-based attack clipping at your ship, maybe rang attack of spitting poisonous bubbles at the players. The way to kill this boss would be by breaking it armor. Shooting its claw trying to crack it. The main idea I’m having is when damages to its face is block with its claws until destroyed Then its limbs pop off. Leaving it’s headshell to be cracked open and then destroyed. Of course, the difficulty will be on crew size. Cool attack idea that it can grab players and then stick them into the ground. For the crab to let go is to shoot with a cannon. If stuck in the ground then the player has to wiggle out which takes couple seconds. Color coding of crab is blue - red then black scaling up. Sizes are also increased per level. For loot it will drop a giant crystal gem like a giant orange , yellow then a purple crystal purple being worth the most. These gems are same as other smaller gems that can be given to any faction for a large greater price. Going from 4k to 5k then 6.5k don’t know if that’s to much but the amount time/cannons being used onto the crab seems fair.

For the sea serpent, I have no idea. I kinda just slap that idea into the sea of thieves. For all, I know it could be a giant snake or something like that. I’ll let you guys decide what would fit into the sea of thieves vibe.

    Bonus level for bosses
. Since there like an extremely rare meglo I think it should be also for the crab, kracken and Phoenix. Their look would be pure white to symbolize the level they are. Unlike other bosses, they have a secret attack maybe like an albono Phoenix screaming, or grabbing the player and bringing him into the sky. These things will be incredibly rare maybe dropping special cool Loot. The only way to get these chances of such a creature is by having large amount of loot and kills to be worthy of such a beast but even then chances are very small.

To wrap things up think adding them as bosses would be very cool. It adds fresh new vibe to pirates in the seas. When fighting the Kraken it’s full of adrenaline pure excitement and fear. Coming out nowhere striking out of the depths of the water. that emotion is pure.

Another idea I’m just splurging on is a man of war skeleton ship. Where they are activated in skeleton fleets or as a event you need to buy. Not sure how scaling would work or even if it would have one but just an idea throw into the crowd.

Anyways im a huge fan boy for bosses most definitely the kracken having these things in a game would be a win.
