24 Hour twitch drop window?

  • Why would anyone at Rare think this is a wise idea?

It comes across as incredibly disrespectful of their own playerbase. "If you don't have this one day off, you don't deserve either of these items."

This feels like toeing the line of "how immediately and intensely can we coerce our playerbase into staring at twitch streams at the drop of a dime?"

I can't think of any other reasonable excuse to have such a tiny availability window for these. Really disheartening in the face of less and less dev communication in the last year to now be treated with such little consideration.

  • They gave a piece that hasn't been available for a while. I start twitch on my phone and let it run with minimal volume at my workstation. Could also be done in a locker. I'd still get behind community day being a weekend to include those that work Saturdays or Sundays or a combination of the two because who else is going to make you an overpriced coffee?

Yeah but... Won't I get bored in there?

  • @eldritchbear

I mean you do you, but you could leave your phone in the car and go claim at lunch/break and start the 2nd hour...

I like I can get all my drops in a day btw. I think it's stupid you have to check in every hour. I have genuinely enjoyed interacting with a partner lately (wtfudge, I know!) and was genuinely disappointed when they weren't live lol.

I agree with opening certain windows wider but we can do tricks foe treats 😏😋

  • These days even Cowboys on a cattle drive and gold miners tinker around on their phone throughout the day

tough to make a case that it leaves workers out imo

Same. I'm low-key annoyed by the whole "get game rewards by not playing the game"-strategy, but at least the streamers are getting something out of it.

I think the main thing is making sure people know it's happening, for people who may not be all over the socials. The Twitch drop page on the SoT site could easily have a save-the-date section for future drops, instead of only showing the one you just missed.

  • Why is noone calling twitch drops what they are ? They're all about FOMO. It's the very design of FOMO to frustrate people.

  • I mean, you aren't wrong. Any time limited thing preys on your sense of Fomo.

  • @beeg-birdo Surely you can spend 5 minutes in your 24 hours that day to open a twitch stream and leave it on while you sleep, or have any break, or even leave it on in your pocket, literally anything.

It don’t think it’s that bad personally. It takes a couple minutes to open a stream and forget about it.
