Fog way too frequent in some locations

  • Hello!

A recent update regarding a change in fog locations has very much hindered a particular area of the map. Roughly the squares: D19, D20, E19, E20.
The fog appears over these locations extremely frequently and doesn't disappear for about 30-40minutes.
Over 3 hours these 4 squares are covered in thick fog for about 50% of the time.

I know this seems trivial but it negates the ability to do anything in this area for long periods of time very frequently. So on the chance it isn't intentional or it was overlooked, can it pleaseee be reverted back to the same fog mechanics in this area as it was prior to the last update?

    Thank you.

  • I love the old pea soup. It’s so eerie and adds so much more with the fear of, Will I hit land? Will another ship sneak up on me?

I was caught in it today during a Meg fight. Another time I was trying to reach Shark Bait Cove. I could see my ship approaching it on the map, but couldn’t see anything out there. Suddenly hills and rock formations loomed out of the fog.

    Awesome stuff!

  • I love the fog myself. Reminds of the opening scene in the first PoTC film where you catch a glimpse of the Black Pearl.

  • I like the fog a lot

I also enjoy fighting megs and skelly ships in the fog because I can't see them so it's entirely based on sound and prediction

The kraken is cool in the fog too

I also want my next shrouded ghost to be in the fog so I don't even know that is the meg that spawned until I kill it

  • @wolfmanbush shrouded has special music now.

I love the fog and wish it was more frequent and more commonly found during the mornings all over the map

  • The Fog needs to be removed in PVP.

  • @pabz-2-dope No, never!

I had one PvP Fog match, and it was amazing.

We both obviously couldnt see anyting, was a new kind of experience, we both orientated obviously on the map table only.
And then, the eery feeling when suddenly the reaper sloop appeared out of the fog in close proximity, quietly glided past me. 1-2 damped shots where exchanged, then we both glide back into the fog, like ghosts caught in battle in a neverending afterlife...
Best PvP match I had so far, and one I will definitly tell my kids about.

Imho it also does not appear too often. I had 1 fog match out of like 60 matches.

So what had happened was, I (saw Bigfoot) a Shrouded in a storm, but was getting loot turned in because it wasn't apparent how rare they were. I know, pics or it didn't happen, but we used to believe they're gonna show up in storms. PROBABLY would have sunk me back then tbh lol.

Tldr: fog does linger in certain areas. Excessively.

  • @parrotlord6426 my rooms always too foggy lol

  • @pabz-2-dope :D I dont see the problem here, cap.

  • I think it's a Marmite issue. Some love the fog, some hate it. Personally, I love the shift in the audio mix when in the fog - the ocean audio gets pulled down and creaks are more prominent, it's gives it a very eerie and still feel. I don't mind the limited vision either, it's one of the few times I'm forced to actually use the map to navigate.

  • I love the fog before it was cool but now you don’t know how many times someone attacks me then the fog rolls as soon I sink them somewhere I don’t know and lose so much loot because of it. why does it last so long
