After buying the potion to change appearance I find it boring that every time I start the game I have to respond to the request to change my pirate's appearance.

I'm happy someone else made this post. I think it would be better to add a button where you can use your bought appearance potion and not it showing up everytime you start up your game. It's something small but it's annoying you have to click it away everytime you start up your game.
I'm all for it.
@abjectarity As for your post, it really adds nothing to the discussion, it isn't constructive and you are completely missing the point. It does not matter that it possibly was 'meant' for immediate use. The fact is that it is now not necessarily for immediate use but something you can use one of the next times. He is just advocating to remove the prompt that keeps showing up everytime you start up your game which would be a small but really nice QoL update to those who have an appearance potion available.
The fact that you can click it away means that it is now a "for next time" thing meaning that there is no reason to keep the annoying pop up in the game which prevents you from loading in the main menu without clicking it away first.

It did add something to the discussion... Why would you buy a potion to change your pirate's appearance if you haven't made the decision yet? If you have made the decision, you would use it right away. If you haven't made the decision, you're not supposed to buy it.
And @abjectarity didn't just raise a valid point, but also gave an answer!I believe you can contact them via support and have the potion removed from your account.
You can get that pesky pop-up to go away right now! Realize that you were hasty and bought the potion before making the decision on whether or not to use it, get your ancient coins back, and buy it back in the future if you do make the decision.
@grumpyw01f Sure but an option to use it when we want is better then a nagging pop up message.
These are the things that I dont understand from the community, someone suggests a better idea from the current situation and then being adviced to use the lesser one.
Part of the forum is adding suggestions to improve the game, from there you can argue if an idea improves the game or not.
But here you cant really argue that it wont be better.@grumpyw01f I don't think you understand. I'll try to explain it as plain and simple for you as possible...
If Rare actually wanted people to use the potion immediately. They wouldn't make a pop up that LITERALLY says and I quote:
"Your Pirate Appearance Potion is AVAILABLE!" You MAY use it now to select a new appearance, OR YOU CAN HOLD IT FOR LATER."
Also it's not because you buy something, that you have to consume it immediately. When you buy Ancient Coins, there's also no clause that says you should spend it within 'x days y hours and z minutes'. When you buy a figurehead, there's no clause that says you should immediately equip it on your ship. I don't see how that would be any different with the appearance potion. You bought the product which means the product is yours, you consume it whenever you want. That's basic consumer law and inherently to ownership of a good.
So yeah I stand behind my statement that the both of you literally added nothing to the discussion.

Now, one could go into common-sense economics, but let's just leave it at: Why the hell not?I think they should make it when you buy it, you have to use it.

You could do with a much better one and just do what OP suggested ...A tiny change that would improve on the SoT.

I think they should make it when you buy it, you have to use it.A few weeks back it was on discount in the emporium (down to 50 ancient coins iirc) - i bought two and used one right away.
I'm on my 4th or 5th pirate now in 1k or so hours, i just get bored and like a change of scenery every now and then. Ive had a big chonker dude, a muscleman, a pretty lady, an small old dude, and now a slim good-looking guy. At some point i'll no doubt want to change again because that seems to be the way my brain works, hence why i bought an extra potion while it was discounted.
I'm with OP, no reason i should have to see that screen each time i load up unless i specifically decide to change my pirate that particular day.

I bought a potion, and for a very long time I roll a new pirate.
But I never found a suitable one and I got tired of roll (because the developers do not want to add a normal character creation). And I decided to postpone the potion until better times.What's the problem with adding an option to not remind me of this potion every time I restart the game?
Who will be worse off for this?
