adventures cant save progression?

  • how about a way to save the adventures so i dont have to restart EVERY time i log off and back on. some of us dont have all day to spend running just one of them. alot of the players i run with only have a couple hours at night after work to play and between the pvp and the lack of a save feature in the tales... well its damn near impossible to get them to play. you are missing out on potential customers with bad choices for your game.

    There are already checkpoints.

  • @pteth

They have checkpoints. More like halfway or 1/3 way checkpoints, but less than an hour's worth of playing.

  • @lem0n-curry i apparently couldnt reach them then. and everything online said there was no way to save them. me and 2 others played the one tale, killing the 3 skellies, finding the treasures.. had cleared all the skellies, gathered the 3 keys, found 2 of the treasures. took about 2 hours, had to log to feed the kids, logged back on and had to restart the tale from scratch, crew quit not wanting to waste anymore time. when i looked online everything i found on google about saving progress in the tales returned a "currently no way to save tall tale progress"

so maybe im missing something but seems to me that if there are checkpoints we should have hit one or two in the amount of play we put in.

  • @pteth

    Lol your title is misleading...

Adventures do not have save points. You have to finish the quest lines in one sitting, any deeds you do during the adventure carry over if you have to sign out.

  • @pithyrumble sorry if its misleading, not fluent on all the vocabulary as not only am i a casual player, it took a dozen times of logging in over a year to finally get a session where we werent being camped at spawn by galleons.

  • @pteth adventures usually take between 1hr and 1.5 hrs to complete. When they are live just focus on it and nothing else while doing it.

  • @captain-coel theres no way the one i was on was 1.5 hours top end to complete. spent almost an hour sailing between islands tracking down skellies and treasure. now unless i missed the end by not finishing that last key.. then it would be far too rushed and once again i start to lose interest in another aspect of the game. its sad, this game could be so GREAT and yet the devs are happy with mediocrity.

  • @pteth

No worries, next Adventure, check out Rarethief.com they have excellent guides. I usually read the guide while I'm at work beforehand lol

  • @pteth I was done with last adventure in under 1.5 hours. Not sure what you were doing.

Also, I wouldnt consider it mediocre to make short quests that can be done in 1-1.5 hrs. The goal is to have little bits of story evey so often.

we were trying to enjoy the game and not rush. it was alot of fun until we found out we had to restart.

  • @pteth under an hour and a half wasn't rushing it. And you didn't complete it, why wouldn't you have to restart it.

  • You should edit the topic title name Pteth, what u are mentioning isn't tall tales but adventures as u now know. Yes, adventures take too long, yes they suck, they are in my eyes insignificant and one of the most annoying things about this game. I apologize that it sucks, but we are all on the same boat on this one, all suffering together at least lol

seems to me it would be rushing, we were following clues, sailing, got jumped by a skellie ship. had to rearm and resupply. so yeah, sorry me and mine didnt bee line it and follow someone elses guide. we were enjoying the game and it took longer for us than it did you. just seems like they would have some sort of checkpoint save so at least im not wasting my time on having to repeatedly redo the adventure if i cant complete in one sitting. ive got kids i gotta feed, a job to work, homework to help with.. and thats just my schedule. thats not even considering the schedules of the rest of my crew from different timezones and different responsibilities. guess it doesnt pay to want to just try and play the game on our own without following some streamers hardcore rush walk through or not being able to turn off life to do a complete play through in one sitting. it is what it is. just another reason it would help to have pve servers for casual players, the time it took us... throw in some guy flagged to do nothing but attack every ship on the server, or, in the last one we tried, folks sinking our ship while we were treasure hunting and off the ship on the island...

  • @pteth dude I get that. I've got my family, job, and home to worry about. I usually do new adventures on of the first few evenings. Sometimes it's with the crew, some times it's solo, sometimes it's with part of my extended crew. We only use the guides for journals, cause they are dumb to look for. Checkpoints for adventures seem unnecessary because the adventures are only going to be around for 2 weeks. Also they have said numerous times that pve servers will never be a thing.
