The Open Crew Captaincy Experience

    Anyone else ever stock your ship for 20 minutes waiting for any crew members to join at all, only to be instantly brigged (As Captain) by a crew of trolls, and have the crew type switched to closed. The lack of privilege's for captains has always been a bit weird to me. You don't really get to be a captain, you get to redecorate, and you get to save a little time, if you get a crew at all.

    If you are the captain of your own boat, you shouldn't have to rely on crew vote to make crew decisions, crew shouldn't really have a vote. The captaincy mechanic is a flawed, useless, pointless, grind. Let captains be captains, not interior decorators.

    So quick question:

    Why are you using Open Crew for Captaincy? You do realize having control over other random potential crew members with some spiffy title means nothing these days, right?

    If you opt to play open crew then you have to be prepared to attract the more annoying player(s). It shouldn’t be the case, but it is.

    I do agree with your points about a captain should be a captain. That is a very fair comment to make.

    Yeah its more "Respect" earned than Privilege. But hey...if you wanna Brig the captain and still give my ship milestones :p

    Power Corrupts people. Can't trust your crew with voting or allow them too do anything, but just 1 person? That abusive.
