Saving supplies

  • I would love to save supplies in Sea of Thieves if server is changed, you could directly continue with your adventure without thinking a lot about them. Especially with the captaincy update where you can save your customization this would be a nice add to.

  • With the captaincy update there is even less reason to save supplies than ever before.

You can get a crate from merchants and load up all the supplies at an outpost extremely fast, you can buy a crate of wood and cannon balls, and you could use the supply crate to load up at a sea fort with more decent food, cannon balls, and wood. Now you can buy blunder and fire bombs, even more wood and cannon balls, some decent fruit, and meats or bait!

With how easy it is to get supplies now, there is no need to save supplies, and they never intended to save supplies as its a session based game, meaning you dont continue your last adventure where you left off, you are always intended to start fresh.

Each new "login" is a new session. New adventure. Even if your continuing where you were before, you are still waking up in a tavern on a brand new day of sailing.
Stock your ship and set out.

  • Sadly this is something that will never be the case. I argued for years that they should at least increase the starting supply so you don't need to waste hours of your life stocking the ship at the start of a session. Like the first 3 years of this game were spent about 10+ minutes stocking your ship from the outpost before setting sail and this giving plenty of time for people to spot you. Its easy to tell when a ship is a fresh spawn and probably has no loot but no one cares. Half the people who come to sink you in this game don't even care about the loot they just want to kill another player.

While they have now added the ability to buy supplies I would still rather pay a much larger sum of gold to even increase my starting supplys by 10-15 planks/canon balls. Between storage crates and row boats on islands its so easy to get supplies now. I never buy from the merchant, nor the shipwright. The amount of gold for supplies is very minimal but the time to even click those buttons is more effort than I am willing to put into when I can just go find a crate on an island. But I would pay millions to be able to spawn with 15 more planks every time I sink. Especially since starting out I tend to scuttle a lot to try and get closer to where I might want to be before deciding if I will just leave the server and remake.

  • @magus104 The few times that i have ever sunk a fresh spawn wasnt because i was blood thirsty and looking to sink any ship, any time i sink a fresh spawn is when im looking to turn in and the ship is at the outpost im looking to sell at, and i see them as a risk to keep afloat while i try to sell.
