Hello. This is my first post here, I've seen a couple of threads on krakens, but all of them are like 3 years old. I really think that kraken could be a great world event. My opinion is that the kraken is maybe the best pve encounter for a new player. Everything feel so positively
overwhelming on the first fight, only to find out that the rewards are really not worth it. And for experienced players the kraken is only annoying, nothing else. I've seen a cool thing a couple of years ago in Apex Legends, with those vault keys. Maybe the kraken itself could be improved, and I look forward to hear your ideas on this topic, but I want to suggest an improvement on the loot. What if the kraken would drop some sort of key that opens a vault that can be placed on an island like Kraken's Fall, and make the key visible on the map just like the FOTD, and have maybe a special chest and some other loot inside. I really like that event and I think they could make it so much better with an addition like this. What do you think?

In general I think that bringing in more or special loot for a kraken is a compatible idea for the environment. I'm fairly indifferent on the specifics but anything that gets people excited about kraken and meg hunting is something that is a positive to me.
Yes, the kraken loot is completely underwhelming. I had a kraken today and all i got was 2 pieces of krakenmeat, 1 hatefull bounty skull and 1 disney stick.
I do not agree you should get a key or something. There should just be more loot you can pick out of the water. Since it's a watercreature it would be nice if you get some barnacled chests and coral skulls.
@sweetsandman Well, since the Disney sticks are worthless (you can't sell them) and i only had 1 hatefull bounty skull, the 2 pieces of krakenmeat where way more valuable.
In my case they would have been anyway, since i am trying to complete the commendation for it for the Hunter's call (only 6 more to go now), so i was happy that i got Krakened anyway. But that would stop obviously when i finish that
I got a stronghold skull the other night but that’s a once-in-a-blue-moon kind of haul; usually I don’t even bother to check, not worth the trouble to sail to all the drop points. I’d like to see the loot pop up in a centralized location; I get the idea behind loot at each damaged tentacle but it makes for a tedious retrieval.
With that said, I love the Kraken, I just do it for the glory, not the gold.

krakens and megs are the best source for high value random loot
they are the only things other than world events that'll bring in the strongholds and the ancient bone dust
also there can be multiple
someone can get a few of each, my personal record is 4 ancient bone dust from 1 meg as a reaper 5 on gold and glory weekend during gold rush hour so it was a nice.
