My method of printing money

  • Hi! So recently I sent out a post for help on making money through commodities--and today I finally figured out the best way.

    Spawn at ancient spire outpost
Immediately after spawning raise the merchants flag, and buy:

    • all available commodities
    • cannonball crate
    • wood crate
    • fruit crate
U buy the crates because upon picking them up they give a large amount of emissary level.
      Sail to plunder outpost
Upon reaching plunder repeat buying the commodities, cannon ball, wood, and fruit crates.
This should raise your flag to lvl 2 and a bit more
Sail to Treasury of the lost ancients
A bit obvious, but complete the Treasury and add the loot to your stack. This will add a buff to your emissary lvl.
      Sail to golden sands outpost
Repeat buying process, make sure you buy the 3 cannonball, wood, and fruit crates
      Sail to sanctuary outpost
      Same buying crates and commodities
      Sail to Royal Crest fortress
This adds another buff to your emissary, which should lock in any uncertainty of reaching lvl 5. U can collect only the merchants loot from the vault or all of it, just be sure to get the four crates of merchant supplies
      Sail to dagger tooth
Repeat the normal buying commodities and crates, but if u like u can sell ur extra, non merchant loot there.
      Sail to galleons grave
If by now (which is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY) you haven't reached lvl 5, buy the crates. But otherwise sell all your loot.
Exact amount of coin made from this I'll have to check, because my voyage was interrupted by a skele-ship and I missed the Treasury (forcing me to buy the crates at galleons grave to finish of the emissary), but ill update!

I like this stacking method a lot since it's got minimal breaks in between with no long stretches of sailing. You always are moving only a little before the next activity and requires no lucky or thinking, and it always accessible.

    Tell me what u think!

  • I'll be picking up my free supply crates from the boats at treasury of the lost ancients

  • that's an awful lot of money spent just to duck underwater and hope nobody attacks you.

That being said my preferred method is hunting shipwrecks, which also involves ducking underwater hoping nobody attacks you, but it's a much lower entry risk.
The huge amount of merchant crates it gives you is a guaranteed emissary V.

Buying cannonball, wood, and fruit crates to help raise your emissary grade isn't really a good idea if you're trying to make gold.

You spend 12,000 gold at ancient spire, 12k more at plunder and you're between grade 2 and 3. If you continue to buy these crates until galleons grave, you spend 60k on 15 crates. Selling those at galleons grave, maybe 1200 gold each at grade 5 is 45k.

You lose 15k gold to help raise your flag to grade 5 on a journey that spans across 6 different outposts.

I spent 2880 on 15 commodities at galleons grave, started a shipwreck voyage, stopped at some floating barrels near skull keep and harpooned 2 silks, 1 tea, the clue, and the key. I hit grade 2 and a quarter. Searched for the shipwreck skipping all other clues and found it near barnacle cay. Hit grade 5 and even found 2 cannonball crates and 2 wood crates in the shipwreck. Sold it all and lowered the flag for 57,115 gold.

You spend more money on those crates from 5 outposts to reach grade 5 one time. I made grade 5 without buying them between my first and second outpost.

I like the treasuries and especially the sea forts. The treasuries have good loot but you leave your ship. I really like sea forts but they aren't the best for merchant emissary grade.

To maximize your time and gold, I'd stick with commodities and shipwreck voyages. You rarely leave your ship, you hit grade 5 quickly. If you don't hit grade 5, just sell the commodities until you are.

  • Doesn't sound very efficient, but if your voyage makes it fun then that's all that matters.

If I'm trying to do emissary, I don't bother with commodities. usually queue a bunch (3-4) cargo runs and complete those in a logical order, always starting new run when the other disappears from table. rarely do i have less than two cargo runs onboard. I'm only stopping for shipwrecks, and firing off to islands to touch any crates or gems for the added rep. Eventually I'm stacking emissary quests, takes around 30 minutes to V.
