PVE spawn rates

  • Hi guys, I want to suggest maybe turning down enemy spawn rates. I feel like now when ever am on an island am constantly fighting npcs over and over again. A group of skellys spawn and as soon as I kill them 2 seconds later ocean crawlers spawn. Then not even half way through fighting them ghost spawn. It's not like it's hard fighting them but it's just annoying when your trying to do voyages and have to fight 30 guys while trying to do one riddle voyage. I wonder what others think about this been playing for years and love more npcs and bad guys to fight but just which there was more of a delay before they respawn again.

  • I surely love bigger variety of enemies on the islands, but I do agree with you, It is just a bit too random. Would love if they were slightly more split across the map and you would not encounter all of them on the same island at the same time.

    If I may suggest.

Skellies can spawn as they always have.

Ocean crawlers would only spawn in certain parts of the map/Islands that have more water around them like Snake Island, but you would not see them in islands such as Old Faithful or very rarely.

    Ghosts should spawn at night.

  • I don't think it should be nerfed.

Y'all gonna complain about it being dead the week after it's changed.

It is annoying when you clear out a Favourable skelly voyage and get hit with Perilous phantoms immediately after tho 😆

Doesn't it feel a tad too random for you tho? Sometimes I feel like I'm in Serious Sam if you know that game :D

I hate to back in my day you...

But it's nice. Makes it spicy. The rates are fine even if the patterns are frustrating. If your pve spawn rate is uncomfortably high: leave.

Sail to the next island. Go back. It will likely have calmed down.

Tools not rules. The game is full of shenanigans that will increase and decrease encounters with both PvE and PvP.

  • Oh boy. I do like it when a never - ending wave of sirens repeatedly spawnkill me while I'm fishing. There goes another fish!

man tell me about it! I'm always hauling loot from them seaforts-then those forsaken sharks appears when I'm but a couple of mere centimetres away! Then I go to sell that loot, and then them sirens appear and start shooting em bubbles at me! And I dive in-and proceed to get jumpscared by THOSE SHARKS!

Oh, the sharks... Don't get me started on the sharks...

One time, I sunk a reaper 5 solo. I was happy and started collecting loot when I noticed someone in the water. I finished them off, then started swimming to my ship. Then boom - two simultaneous shark bites. I end up blackscreening for 15 minutes and my ship sinks because the reapers decided to come back. I lost a good 150k gold due to those SHARKS!!!

This may be the start of a great friendship.

I don't mind killing all of them at all, gives me renown and loot. But just a bit immersion breaking when what OP wrote, happens ^^

  • @zig-zag-ltu

    Immersion smersion...

I am an immortal being with powers both above and at the behest pocket universes. The T800 could show up with Freddy and I'd be down to fight.

Like pvp, people don't want to fight. It's not a problem until they start nerfing things more than they already have. My particular skill set has enjoyed the shadow buff (it's not in the patch notes, but behaviours are different) which had been painfully crippled recently.

    Dude, Babe. LEAVE.
go back. The sirens will have usually gone away if you sail to the closest island banner and back.

Same. However, I think you have misunderstood what I meant. Let's say you have 5 skelly's 3 crawlers and 3 ghosts. I am not trying to say, remove one of them and keep the rest. I'm honestly fine with the numbers, they could increase them for all I care. Especially those big ocean crawlers, I only wish they were more logical and better placed when it happens.

Another cool thing would be, if we had bosses/mini bosses spawning randomly from time to time, just like we have Megs/Krakens/Etc. Would be amazing if you had some of those in land too.

  • @zig-zag-ltu

You ever killed an ashen captain with those red boogers and their buddies?

    Chef kiss.

  • Can't recall to be honest. (A real world event Ashen lord would be too strong for a solo player encounter)

Probably last time I did an Ashen lord was before they have introduced new types of enemies.

However, if there were any skellies with kegs I would certainly use the opportunity to make it quick.

Omg the loving obscenities I'm not allowed to post. NOTHING is too strong for a solo except thrones if given enough time. 😕

Do you really want to spend 30 minutes on one boss that randomly spawns? (Me- No) If his health bar was reduced so you can do it in a reasonable amount of time, would be great. Just like you have differences in Sloop Kraken and Galleon Kraken.

  • @zig-zag-ltu

It doesn't take 30 minutes to down an Ashen Lord.

    10 to 15.

    It's what I do

    Surgical strikes.

An inexperienced solo with a guide can do most of what I do.

    I am extremely successful

    Feisty ^^

I hope we get to fight in the seas one day and have some grog afterwards, probably can learn a thing or two from you.

Unless I'm at a shipwreck. It'll despawn, unless there is an untouched reaper chest there. I guess you're right, though. Not worth losing bait over.

Are you playing solo or just avoid pvp even if you are with a crew (if you don't mind me asking)

  • @zig-zag-ltu
I am usually a solo pve goddess.

You can leave a spicy Shipwreck and go back. 2 square window, speaking from experience.

I don't chase people who don't want to fight. I run from unfair fights myself if I play solo. And I try to talk people out of fighting smaller crews as it is not a challenge, unless we have too much loot to loose and your in an outpost.

    That being said.

You said I wouldn't be able to catch you, now you say you would sink me? So which one is it :D?

Anyway I hope you enjoy your journey in the seas and get a lot of gold. Ferry of the damned awaits us all

  • @zig-zag-ltu

I'm passive so I wouldn't likely be able to sink you.
    However:
    Bore you.
    Hop.
    Red Sea.
    Leave lol.

You won't sink me if I don't want you to. 😏

  • it's just annoying when your trying to do voyages and have to fight

They wouldn’t be doing there job if they didn’t. XD

I frankly love it. Makes normal voyages fun and exciting. Sure it troublesome but makes the small islands more lively with threats trying to prevent you from getting loot. (As they are guarding it)
