Sot alternative request

  • I love the pvpve aspect of sea of thieves, the variety of experiences inside the game is awesome, its brutal and unforgiving but it can be relaxing and wholesome too, my favorite aspect is the mandatory team communication, meaning the ship must operate in unity otherwise you get overwhelmed by either players or ai enemies. Also love the fact that no amount of crying has changed the game so far, this is a statement to developers standing their ground as well the strange coincidence that people who complain a lot about the game cannot stop coming back for some reason. Anyway my point is, theres no alternative to sea of thieves on the genre, i can only think of hunt showdown but it is not as complex and fun as sot.

I want another game like this and nobody better than you Rare to make it, basically sea of thieves + frostpunk, a steam punk spin off of sea of thieves gameplay where you and your crew conduct a vehicle on a frozen rich world full of activities and dangers, think of mad max fury road but on the snow and with that classic rare aesthetics.

•Players not only go out in look for valuable stuff to sell or missions to complete, they also scour for resources to keep the vehicle working and keep themselves alive.
•Player interaction is entirely up to themselves, meaning you can get or provide help, you can get attacked and robbed, you can get betrayed, you can gang up to attack others, pure sandbox anarchy.
•Mountain climbing with avalanche possibity (natural or provoked)
•Radio communication with simple level encryption, meaning players can choose to communicate with everyone or make it so to only the allies can or even use the radio to locate loot by signal strenght (wich could also be a trap), encryption can be copied if your vessel gets boarded and someone takes a picture of the code.
•Air combat, with not only the possibility of shooting yourself on the cannon but also using parachutes, wingsuits and even balloons for scouting or reaching highier areas savely.
•Vehicle heat = health. Much like sea of thieves water level, the vehicle health is the heat inside of it, if you let the hot air out completely it shuts down completely and over time its carcass will slowly get buried on the snow meaning it doesn't despawn instantly like in sot. it can also be set on fire.
•If players stand too long outside the hot zones (vehicles and structures) they also lose hp due to the cold.

It doesn't have to be edgy but if i could request one thing is to give it the subnautica treatment, where its a colorful game with horror aspects under it, if you can make it scary, please do it.

  • SoT experience for non aggressive players is Xbox preferred and NA servers. I rarely get bothered (positive and negative) unless there is a new season/adventure/emissary cosmetics and I can extrapolate why.

  • I agree with you about Sea of Thieves. For me it's the king of Multiplayer PvPvE social experiences.

There's one or two games out there that have similar potential, but are no where near as good as SoT and come with their own significant problems.

There's Lost Oasis, which is a rust/SoT type game with player created wind powered landships. Not gonna lie, I didn't enjoy it.

There's also Star Citizen, which looks like its taking the MMO space game genre in a SoT direction with its multicrew ships. This one has serious potential but it's stupidly expensive to get involved, bugged to hell and back and stuck in development limbo where it's always 2 years from release no matter what year it is.

I'd keep an eye on the development of those games because they might pay off in the future. But for right now SoT is the only game in town that delivers on all of these elements.

Hunt Showdown is great, but it's not quite as well developed in terms of the teamwork and social aspects as Sea of Thieves. There's a lot of fun to be had in the Bayou though.
