Guild System (and ship sharing)

  • update looks great, just waiting for it to download now!

    One thing people have brought up though is the debate among their regular crew on who's going to be the captain each session and get the milestone progression.

    This is where the idea of guild owned ships comes in. Players in a guild can pool their ships to make a fleet. Players can "take out" any ship from the fleet of their choosing (with appropriate permissions set), even if it belongs to another guild member. That way the milestones can become a group effort still, even if you're not the one captaining the ship.

    Of course there would then be ways to further the guild system with things like shared goals, cosmetics, allegiances etc etc, maybe even a private instanced island?

    Would need a better name than guilds as well. Thoughts?

  • Just to elaborate on the permissions system a bit more. You'd be able to have different ranks within the guild, then players could set permissions either based on rank, or individual playernames.

    Permissions: Use ship, Decorate ship, save decorations, repair ship (cosmetic) etc etc

  • here is an idea as well! having 2 Separate crews who are apart of the same guild able and allowed to join the same server would really expand play with friends! it would even lead to 2v2 ship battles!!... oh please make this a thing that sounds really fun.

    heck it could even be a shoo in for 2v2 hourglass fights!... oh pretty please that literally just screams epic and so much fun...

    You lost me at guild.

    Ship sharing yes. If I add a cosmetic to your captain ship, you should be able to retain it for a save fee. Maybe 2x cost. I would be particularly valuable unless certain nerfs were applied for emporium/twitch/limited drops.
