I was wanting to report them, but they didn't show up in the "recent players" thing, but they weren't there. is this an issue i'm going to have to bring up with xbox side of things?
edit: Why not have a menu option to see who is on the server?
Players not showing up in recent players
there is often a delay before they show up in general
but for me recent players has always been weird, some people never show up (usually the ones I am interested in checking the name)
I've long had this thing where in game names don't always match the names that show up on recents as well. I'll see their name in game and on the list it shows names recently seen but they don't match.
a menu option to see who is on the server is just a weapon for targeting people really. that's ultimately how a lot of the people that get harassed end up getting harassed

@wolfmanbush how would it be a weapon to target people? like see a name and search for them?
This is a small world type of adventure game. A lot of people know each other and see each other in this game at the high risk/high reward level.
This is also a game with constant hopping by many people in the high reward category
This creates a scenario where knowing a server name list becomes valuable to those that aim to harass and interfere with the experience of others in a personal and targeted way.

Profile switched to Offline won't show up on Recently Played With.
This can't be accurate as I am offline for months at a time and people message me from servers based on recently played lists.

Also if a player has streaming disguise ( there is a proper name but I'm calling it what it is) that would show a different name onscreen than on recently played with .
The stream sniper nicknaming only appears to the streamer with randomized names, not all other players. This is to prevent someone watching their stream, recognizing a name in that same server besides the streamer, and then trying to hop or locate the streamer in said server after getting said player to swap out crew with them on their ship. All players who do not have this turned on will see everyone's true Xbox gamertag.
I believe it shows only 3 players in the ''recently played with'' on the xbox app, meaning if your in proximity of 2 brig crews at the same time, you will miss half of the players appearing on the list, not sure why its limited and their decision (tbh the app itself has always been a buggy mess on PC)
If you want to report, its best to be recording before hand, and delete said footage after your play session to save space....
