Throughout my previous year or two playing Sea of Thieves, I have only ever encountered Karen the Kraken once. Call it bad luck, I know. As of recent however, I have encountered Karen four times in only two days of about two hour play sessions. I am wondering if the Kraken got an increase to its spawn rate, or if I am just extremely lucky? I've read through most of the new patch/release notes and don't recall seeing a buff to the spawn rate, so I am coming here for clarification.

@heyitsdog It seems you just happened in active servers where other crews finished world events quickly, leaving the rest of the server to deal with the Kraken.
outside of just being selected 1/5 during the time a kraken spawns there are times throughout the day and throughout the week where they are more likely based on low activity and what I would assume is some form of server refresh time for the region. It's a fairly short window, maybe only an hour or 2 a day.
It could have just been entirely rng or you could have just been playing during your regional time that would qualify you for the above I mentioned.
I know this because I have hunted a lot of krakens and megs and in order to do that efficiently I've had to figure out patterns that go beyond coincidences.
They haven't released any info indicating an increase in spawns so there is no real reason to assume they increased it. It would likely be something they would be transparent about rather than silently alter.
@wolfmanbush the kraken is just considered a normal world event, no? or are you saying that the world event will favor choosing kraken if the server is low pop?

The Kraken appears some time after a non-player started world event (thus not the FotD) is finished. Though I'm not sure if there is a despawn timer when no ship is on the open seas for some time.If there are less ships on the server, you would have bigger chance to find her, then again it may take longer for a world event to finish/despawn when less crews are there to do it.

I was aware of that and I'd agree you'd be more likely to see her if there are fewer crews to choose from. I'm just confused about the "server refresh time" bit. it sounds like he's implying the server will spawn more krakens when it's refreshing (outside of the normal world event mechanics), but I guess he may just be saying that's when you'll find low pop servers easily.
