I just watched the trailer for the season 6 community day and I have my fingers crossed that sailing goes smoothly this time.
That being said I had the idea for an event boss that only comes around for Community Day. The legendary... the menacing... and the extremely annoying... Skeleton Lord Strawberry Beard himself!
I have two versions of this idea. The Quick Version and the Full Version.
Quick Version
A reskin of the Ashen Lord fight. Now with delicious strawberries!
- Flaming rocks are reskinned as strawberries.
- Spews strawberry jam (and missing textures) instead of fire.
- Flames are replaced with a jam splat texture.
- Instead of taking fire damage, a hit player will be slowed by sticky jam (aka limp leg)
- Smoke is colored in the scheme of missing textures.
- Summons plant skellies instead of ashen skellies.
Full Version
This is a more fleshed-out version that could maybe be seen in a later community day event. Custom attacks, and more complicated coding.
- Quick Version aspects are carried over.
- Has a strawberry vine whip for mid-ranged attacks in phase 2.
Note: Vine whip can perhaps grapple players like the smoker in Left 4 Dead. Fellow crewmates either have to cut/shoot the vine or do a certain amount of damage to stagger Strawberry Beard and set the player free. - In phase 3 HUGE strawberry vines sprout from the ground around Strawberry Beard and attack the players. Once all vines are taken down, Strawberry Beard is vulnerable about 3 times. When attacked for the final third time, he dies.
Note: These vines are more or less reskinned and downsized Kraken tentacles on land. They can slam the ground or pick players up and eat them. When melee attacked, they bleed jam onto the player (causing the limping effect).
As for loot, it could look something like this:
Garunteed Loot
- Strawberry Beard's Skull
- Chest of Sorrow
*Ritual Skull - Fruit Crate full of Strawberries (or mangos maybe?)
Random Loot
*15-20 of just about anything of high worth. (I can't think of anything on theme)
As for how he spawns, maybe he only spawns on one set island once the Community Day Flag gets to Grade 5 across all servers around the same time. Any new servers that might appear afterward would not have him.
