Bait boxes!

  • I don't know if any of y'all like to just fish, but I do, and it's a pain to just get bait, I wish we could just buy a bait box of like 20 grubs, 15 earthworms, and 15 leeches.

  • As someone who has fished every fish there is to fish, the amount needed for Legendary Hunter of the Sea of Thieves, I had mentioned that this would be a convenient feature. However, if it were something introduced now, after having dug up every earthworm, leech, and grub I needed for the title, I would definitely scream internally.

  • @itsohhmai I am doing my best to do it but people keep coming to mess with me as I dig and fish. I really with there was just PvE servers.

  • Use a rowboat or find one, park your ship away from were you are fishing or scuttle your ship and then use the rowboat to sail from A to B and to store the bait in...

I get to fish for 3-4 hours and no pvp I still see other players from time to time all in all what most players see is your ship and not a small rowboat...

It’s a pain to grind Hunters faction due to fishing. But that why we don’t need bait boxes.
It would remove the grind which fairly this game needs to maintain more, it keeps players coming back. (Should) those dedicated anyways.

Make something easy shouldn’t be a thing.
    I’m a no.

  • @burnbacon do you really think the boring tedious task of digging up worms is what makes the game fun and draws players?
And you talk about being able to spend gold for worms would make the hunters call a complete breeze, all it really would do is get rid off a bit of the hassle and might even encourage some pirates to take up fishing

  • Not a bait box but a literal can o' worms. And would have to be bought on a Sea Post, not available anywhere else or part of random loot

It's literally a box full of stuff so few people use its not going to make the game literally melt down and ruin the "fun of grinding" because you don't need to dig in the sand and dirt anymore. Terrible excuse to say no to a suggestion that is only beneficial.

  • Why no to the bait box?

I mean not like if we had the option it would be easier to fish still or faster....

I take it you were also against players being able to buy a crate of cannonballs, wood, and fruit from the Merchant as well.

Taking two minutes to buy a box full of bait isn't going to affect the grind of the game, considering you still have to sail to different areas to fish and then the action of fishing itself isn't going to change. What's so wrong about saving a player some time by not having to go to an island and dig in the sand for bait? We already have enough "dead time" on the boats while sailing from place to place to counter any "grind time" lost by buying bait.

  • @hundead0420 An easy way to start is just filling your pockets (and don't forget the extra bait spot on your fishing pole) with one type of bait i.e. 10 Leeches in your pocket (+1 on fishing pole) and head to a Seapost in The Ancient Isles and fish off the dock, turning in Ancientscales as you catch them. If a Splashtail tries to bite your line, try your best to quickly recast your line before it steals your bait.

Every day/night cycle, recheck the barrels at the Seapost for more bait.

You can choose to get more bait, and just keep your boat parked next to you at the Seapost, or like others have suggested just scuttle once you get there so other pirates looking to reek havoc don't see your ship in the distance.
