City/town island

  • My idea is adding a medium sized island either in the middle of the map or somewhere else, that has a town with npc’s and shops. But the thing about the town is your ships can’t get damaged and you can’t take damage because it would be a safe heaven for all pirates to not have to worry about dying.

  • This just sounds like the 'make outposts safe' thing we have heard a million times.

    Having said that, if they turned some of the massive and stupid islands (Old Faithful) or made new ones and created some towns (maybe the same style as the Fortresses) I think it could be quite interesting

    But I would rather see the Outposts given some life. If we added in some housing perhaps and some NPCs who walk around doing stuff, maybe going to the Tavern or shopping, it would make outposts a bit more fun

    But no safezone.

  • Yeah, immunity is an issue here. We already have run to red sea. I dont want a run to safe haven. Still like the idea of a big haven though.

  • Well, I'd agree with it except the immunity, which won't work anywhere in adventure mode.

    Personally, I'd like to see an outpost overhaul using a bunch of assets from Pirates Life towns and Sea Forts. The stone looks really good and I wish it was used more, the outposts we have now feel very dead, quiet, whatever you wanna call it, they just don't feel like a living outpost. New buildings and wandering NPC's would be nice

  • Perhaps instead of immunity there could be NPC manned cannons attacking agressive ships?

  • @skullboi22 You do realize that that doesn't stop pirates from stealing from you, right? Even worse, because they would have immunity, there would be nothing you could do about it once they got their hands on your loot. It also creates a bottleneck or chokepoint of a safe and not safe area(s) that can easily be camped.

  • When I wrote this I thought it was a good idea at the time for the immunity, then I read the comments and it all makes sense
