I dont see any reason why ferryman set shouldnt be brought back for everyone. RARE never said that it was time limited. They should brought it back just like mercenary set, its the same situation. Plus it would be great to see crying people who paid real money just for items which shouldnt be a thing. And they paid enornous ammount of money to resellers and not rare. So developers shouldnt support it. But i guess they are too scared of that people.

From what i recall, the ferryman set is actually sort of "locked" in a copyright purgatory. As parts of it were given away with Chips Ahoy cookies and the Xbox controller, they cannot actually put them back into the game for legal reasons. I may be wrong on this but i remember hearing it somewhere.
Furthermore, they've cemented themselves as exclusive items (hence the reason people pay a hefty price for them), so even if they could be brought back, they shouldn't be. Not unless they ran another controller + code promotion or another brand deal. Not everything needs to be available to everyone, and modern Sea of Thieves has it's own forms of exclusive items, so it's not like players now don't get to experience having time limited items that future players won't have.@fgfoot More like 60 bucks for the controller and the code......

It was a sarcasm 😂No im not salty at all. If you want to spend Real money on item then go on, its your money not mine. But if everyone can buy it with right ammount of monney then we can consider this item time limited? For me its not, its just sitting behind paywall which was created by players not developers.
And if rare really said that ferryman is time limited and will remain locked then shame on them.@fgfoot But thats the thing with exclusive items, you release an X amount of them and thats what makes them rare.
If they would have done it all the time of course it would be wrong but its not.And they cant prevent people from activating a code years later.
@fgfoot That's what has me stumped on if that's the whole case or not, but i believe it's allowed to be in the game, even used as it was in the TT's, but player's just aren't allowed to get it if they didn't partake in the promotions.

It was as simple a buying a controller. Literally preordering it from any retailer. Plenty of retailers had no allocation.. they got stocked for as many as they had reserved.
You can project all you want assuming everyone's a dirty reseller or paying some scalper.., or be as obnoxious as you want about how funny you think it would be to "get at" anybody who has it..
But it ain't happenin' lol
It's not even a "paywall" issue.. it's literally limited by supply, and availability of the codes produced and sold with controllers.. so you're whole point arguing they aren't limited if people can just buy is irrelevant.
As far as I know, the Ferryman set is not coming back.
As for people selling the codes, that is their prerogative but:
