Noticed I get a hit marker when blunder bombing the rats on my ship. Blundered at least a dozen of them.
Asked around and was told there an accommodation associated with rat killing. Any truth to this? If so, how many we have to kill? (honestly, felt like I was being trolled, but I did get a hit marker on them)

Sadly, this was a troll... there is no commendation for doing so.

Rats are to give you a visual cue that there's water in your Hull. Mostly useful for galleons tho.
You can check for commendations under the Reputation tab in game. Most of the odd ones would be under Bilge Rats. That way you can spot the trolls easily. Also you can't play music to stop the chest of sorrows from crying lol.
@pithyrumble I thoroughly checked Bilge Rats but didn't find anything, figured I was being trolled. Although, Rare does on occasion include an easter egg and who doesn't want a Rat Killer title? lol.
From growing up in the country my instinct was to immediately shoot them, which produces no hit marker, with either pistol, shotgun, or rifle nor sword. So, naturally I gave the blunder bombs a try and was surprised to see the hit marker.
