Ahoy!
Picture yourself, sailing the seas, going across on your journey going to dig up some burried treasure.
As you're on the waves, wind blowing your hair, you spot something in the horizon! Barrels on plenty? No, there aren't any seagulls!
You sail towards it, curious to find a rowboat with a poor lad left on it.
With him comes a decent stash of gold, he was maybe trying to escape with it, and a note that concludes a story you haven't even begun.
Sea Dog's Stashes would be a new way to introduce quests and for players to interact with the world of Sea of Thieves.
It brings in a quite rare encounter of a skeleton on a rowboat, by stopping by you can get your hands on his stash and a rowboat with a buddy skelly on it.
With those comes a note, supposedly from him, that sends you across a journey, the Sea Dog's.
You walk in his steps in various ways, whether it'd be where they burried some treasure, to deliveries they've done etc... I'd be thinking of a combination of these but limited to prevent the journey from being too long. You go through this quest backwards from how it happened, you don't know when or where it started and that's what you're trying to figure out.
Every story is different with at least a good 10 different scenarios, for instance one could've begun with some bilge rats that could've stashed a bunch of treasure and gold at the cave system of Sailor's Bounty, which, since being the start of their adventure, would be the grand finale of yours as your big reward.
You trace back this voyage of a crew just like you and I and you can choose to stop the voyage at any time and fly away with the loot you already have, leaving both the plot and the big final stash for some other times... (or someone else).
Of course this idea would be one feature from another update with tons of others, the difference from other voyages would be that it'd introduce a new way of completing tasks from a voyage, a voyage that you can't start but must find by pure luck.
Anyhow, have a good wind!
