Sea Dog's Stash

  • Ahoy!

Picture yourself, sailing the seas, going across on your journey going to dig up some burried treasure.
As you're on the waves, wind blowing your hair, you spot something in the horizon! Barrels on plenty? No, there aren't any seagulls!
You sail towards it, curious to find a rowboat with a poor lad left on it.
With him comes a decent stash of gold, he was maybe trying to escape with it, and a note that concludes a story you haven't even begun.

Sea Dog's Stashes would be a new way to introduce quests and for players to interact with the world of Sea of Thieves.
It brings in a quite rare encounter of a skeleton on a rowboat, by stopping by you can get your hands on his stash and a rowboat with a buddy skelly on it.
With those comes a note, supposedly from him, that sends you across a journey, the Sea Dog's.
You walk in his steps in various ways, whether it'd be where they burried some treasure, to deliveries they've done etc... I'd be thinking of a combination of these but limited to prevent the journey from being too long. You go through this quest backwards from how it happened, you don't know when or where it started and that's what you're trying to figure out.
Every story is different with at least a good 10 different scenarios, for instance one could've begun with some bilge rats that could've stashed a bunch of treasure and gold at the cave system of Sailor's Bounty, which, since being the start of their adventure, would be the grand finale of yours as your big reward.

You trace back this voyage of a crew just like you and I and you can choose to stop the voyage at any time and fly away with the loot you already have, leaving both the plot and the big final stash for some other times... (or someone else).

Of course this idea would be one feature from another update with tons of others, the difference from other voyages would be that it'd introduce a new way of completing tasks from a voyage, a voyage that you can't start but must find by pure luck.

    Anyhow, have a good wind!

  • @lovelocc Great idea! Would also love if you could attach and use the skeleton rowboat after you finish the voyage

  • @lovelocc thats a pretty neat idea, something else that would be cool is if it was a skeleton OR a sea dog, who was still alive. Imagine how funny it would be to have a skelly or sea dog buddy that was just as annoying as the cursed captain, ranting on about absolutely nothing XD

  • I like this Idea!

  • @o0lilboog0o If we're going to go like that, make him row! Gotta chase after 'em!
(Or maybe he just lost his paddles/got too tired, which would still be depending on the story itself)

  • @lovelocc yo you gave me an idea :O. You could find a skeleton, which would lead you to what you said above, OR you could find a living sea dog and chase after him, like you said, and he would run off into different islands, leading you to a final place! Then you could either choose to fight him or ally them. If you fought and defeated them, you would get a good chunk of gold, as well as a sea dog chest, which you could give to anyone for doubloons. Ty for the idea fren :)

  • @lovelocc And also I accidentally forgot to say this, but if you allied him, he would be a part of your ship until you logged off, and if your ship sunk he would swim in a certain spot until he eventually drowned. If you could get to him on time, then he would keep fighting for you, but if he drowned... well, lets say you would have a song-singing-menace on your hands :I
