Today I heard that "OG" things will be returned in twitch drops. Do you even think about the people who play it from the beginning? that they should have things that others don't? Yes, there are a few, but not as many as you've already returned. I'm pretty upset personally. from 24.9 there will be sailors with OG things that they don't even know are rare. Well, after that date, it will be a common thing. I like this game, but I would appreciate it more if you did new things and skins. I don't want ONLY a reskins. And I'll be happy if you tell me why you're doing this by returning old items. My opinion is that because more people play it, but it's not good. Enough of the people I played with so they stopped playing because the new players got OG skins. We are currently playing two of my band. clicking on something or signing into something or buying something isn't glory so there is no substance to the social glorification of some of these items
If there wasn't a significant grind behind it at one point I care not.
A lot of us don't even use some of this stuff it's all just a thing to act superior about
@wolfmanbush I don't think it's fair to say these aren't some kind of 'grind'. Requires a different kind of effort to get the entire set. This upcoming twitch drop weekend will finally fill out most of the rest of the set for me after several years. I don't expect i'll ever get the midnight blunder : (

people chose to do the buying or the competing/participating outside of the game
that was their choice but rare didn't put themselves on the line saying things wouldn't pop up for others down the line
It's really not a fault thing that people glorified something this way and it turned out to not last forever.
It's one thing if they just threw out titles or grindy cosmetics from within the game to any ole participant but this isn't that.
The Obsidian set has always been used for promotional purposes and pieces of it have returned time and time again to promote the game. At this stage, only really the Capstan and Banjo are coveted.
No-one is looking at these and getting any part of your pirate's story from them. I say that as someone with the entire Obsidian/Black Dog/Ebon/Midnight set (minus the non-existent hook).
I wouldn't even put them on a par with the actual OG items that players had to unlock in-game.
I wish these obsidian items would return more frequently, instead of cosmetics from sets such as frozen horizon and rising morningstar (which both should just be earnable ingame...) being used in tWitCh dRops.
Obsidian stuffs has always been rather common promotional items, never knew people considered them that rare tbh.

Nobody stopped playing because someone got OG skins. Please just stop.
It changes nothing if players get OG skins or not. You still got it way earlier and honestly most players that have OG skins don't even USE OG skins.
Its the kid playing with a toy in the sandbox story.
1 kid is bored with a toy, doesn't want to play with it anymore. So the parents let another kid play with it, now the original kid is crying kicking and screaming because NOW he wants to play with it.
Almost everyone that plays the game especially older players, no one notices what you are wearing because no one cares. The only time players care or notice is when someone is wearing something that glows because its easier to see them under water or at night.
I have pretty much all the cosmetics and I don't care if Rare lets other players have them also. I'm not using them and neither are the players in my crew and neither are other players. There might be the 1 random person that still rocks the original kraken ink set but honestly who even notices what other players have anymore??

Conditions to unlock should be similar to original conditions to unlock so this would block a few.
