The idea of the game is precisely that of "huge risk", the idea is to see a sail on the horizon and not know if it's friend or foe, the game's development team has always said that. And no, I don't have all day to play games, I work at two jobs, I freelance, I study, I have a wife and daughter, besides, when I play, I do live on Twitch and I still create weekly content for youtube. My life and my weekly playing time are not much different from yours. Don't like PvP? There are games that don't have PvP. Assassin's Creed Black Flag, King of Seas, etc.
Sea of Thieves is not about progression either, once you reach legend status, all you gain access is an area with a tavern and absurdly expensive skins, which by the way, are expensive precisely because of the alliance servers that farm more than that they can spend. Sea of Thieves is about creating stories, experiencing the immersion of a pirate's life. Without someone to plunder the essence of the game is thrown in the trash.
Players can sink you and reputation stays with you, you don't lose anything relevant that you don't lose if you leave the server. The gold, doubloons and reputation will be there. Don't like PvP and still want to play Sea of Thieves? Quests in Devil's Roar can be a solution, not raising emissaries either.
I understand your point of wanting to play your way, but it's not worth it to negatively affect a whole community and kill the game because of a small portion that still doesn't understand how the game works. Alliance Servers are one of the biggest problems in the game and ending them we will have a Sea of Thieves that will last at least another 5 years, instead of being another forgotten game because of the community that prefers to refuse to do things as they should be made.
I don't mind being a fake PL or something, I just like stacking items with others and that's what Ally does, so IMO is the only way to play Sot for a long time and enjoy the game.
