Sea posts should have a big frying pan that can cook more cookables at once.

  • The title kind of says it. Let me explain why I think this is a good idea and my vision for it.

    1. This would encourage Hunters Call. Why? Because every sea post would have a big frying pan that could hold up to 3 cookables at once. So that means could cook 3 slabs of meg meat at once, or 2 fish and 1 chicken drum. It doesn't matter the combination.
    2. Have the big frying pans cook the food twice as fast. The one on your ship will remain untouched as if the ship got these frying pans it would nullify having them at the sea posts.
    3. This would encourage people to actually go to sea posts for more than a quick stop or drive by supplies.
    4. It would get people excited about Hunters Call again and if launched with an event that encourages fishing and killing monsters this could be really good. I am not arguing for a Hunters Call emissary or voyage (which I think would be awesome) but simply put I think this would improve the quality of life in the game in this respect and get people more active in this less fleshed out portion of the game.

  • I like it, currently you can cook two at a port. There maybe some issues around selection of which items as far as the current ui. Alternatively the outposts or certain islands could have a larger cooking camp on them with 3-4 of the regular frying pans which would just mean a map edit that would take very little effort to do.

  • I would just like to thank Rare, even if they did not see this post that they added 4 frying pans to the new Sea Forts. (which you can see in the new Season 6 teaser) I would like to think I have influence in this even if no one saw this post LOL.

  • @sir-palmsy I think the forts will be great for the cooks. 4 frying pans, able to defend yourself, and close to the water so you can catch your fishes!

  • @brunokuz Agreed!!! Hunters Call got a huge QOL update within this update and I think people are sleeping on it!

  • Have the big frying pans cook the food twice as fast.

Nah. I dont understand people wanting to "quickly" do things. and later complain about having nothing left to do...because they finished everything...quickly.

What this would encourage is for people to stay parked at a seapost.

Fish at the seapost, cook in bulk at the seapost, sell at the seapost. Seems too easy.

I'd rather Rare adds a "big frying pan" as a random loot item that, once found, one could place over campfires in the environment.

Or, only some outposts (not seaposts) would have big frying pans or boucans at existing campfires.

The first would require a bit more work, and the second would require a bit more risk in exchange for the ease of cooking in bulk.

  • @burnbacon sagte in Sea posts should have a big frying pan that can cook more cookables at once.:

    Thank you! 👏👍
