So after last nights fisasco I am done with this game. I had a 3 man crew and we decided to take on the skeleton fort. After I would say maybe 30 mins or more we realized someone snagged our dingy with our skulls on it and ran off…we found the sloop and gave chase but ended up letting them go because we found some loot in the water that made up for the loss. Ok so we go back to the fort and I would say after an hr or so we finished the fort. We loaded all the loot into our boat which as you know takes maybe 15 mins or so. As soon as we started to move our boat we realized someone was below deck and sunk our boat losing everything!! the sloop from before had returned. all that time and effort lost…for nothing. and no im not gunna wrap it up as thats how the game is played…bs…these were [Mod edit] things. we are not protected from things like this. the developers dont care to protect us from stuff like this…[mod edit], all we need is custom servers so we can level up and get gold and etc. also lets not forget while we were taking on the fort our boat kept getting shot at by the skeletons no matter where we parked the boat…which made things take longer..horrible design choice by the developers there. i would love for the developers to actually care about the amount of time people put into their game and help us out and protect us…afterall its the time we have to put in becauss of how they designed the game to be so grindy
Done Playing This Game
@madfrito99 The game can't help if you're not careful, it's a pirate game, then play on the fleets where everyone is friendly, and you have no problems ...
@madfrito99 Okay bye bye! No need to announce to the world that you're done playing a game but... okay I guess
@madfrito99 sorry matey, but what you experienced is the game. Pure and simple.
Other players are meant to pose the threat here. The activities you do in the game are merely to get you and others out in the world and (sooner or later) interacting with each other.
Rare haven't ignored anything here. You simply got outplayed.
My only suggestion is dust yourself off and try again. Maybe in time you'll be the ones hiding on another crews ship!
@madfrito99 Ahoy me matey!
We’re sorry that you be leaving us but…
Remember that be pirates out there no the lookout for loot, wherever they may find it!
The skull in the sky is a beacon for ships who can spy you from afar while you’re completing it. Always keep an eye on your surroundings! As an aside.. please refrain from circumventing the profanity filter as this is against forum rules, your post will be modified and a note added to your account.
Fair winds!
Multiplayer pirate game, your experience will be no different to anybody elses. Other people have families and work all hours too, you just learn to wise up and be a bit more careful the more you play it. You need eyes in yer backside to be fair and use these experiences to work out what you could have done differently to avoid it in future..
Look mate, ignoring the giant pile of salt in this post, you lost fair and square. The game allows/encourages stealing. You were doing a neutral objective that broadcasts itself ot the entire server. It is designed to attract attention, including rivals. You got one upped by a single dude, that is a you problem for falling for it. No protections are deserved.
With the snark out of the way, here are tips. You describe being hit by the cannons, this is still on you. Every fort has a safe space to park, your inability to find it is on you. Hug the island and typically right below the cannon towers will provide safety from the other towers and island cannons. There is always a spot my dude.
You are not owed protection, the game has a stealing theme where people can steal. Players are putting just as much time and effort, you aren't special to be owed any more protections than the other players. If this game makes you this salty, might be time to find a new game.
Judging by the language on the post and the time line with how long it took you to complete the fort I would say you guys are rookie pirates. Which means you guys are still in the learning phase of the game. Aka you guys are currently bad. Not an insult just a statement of fact. We were all bad at one time. We learn and get better. Thats how its suppose to be.
It IS how the game is played and it IS how the game is. You knew this going in. No you will not get custom servers where you can level up. You will get custom servers but they will have zero progression. No gold, rep, or even Tall Tales if I remember correctly.
Ask for help, look up guides, sail with seasoned pirates. You'll find players who are more than willing to teach you how to play.
Developers don't protect you from other pirates, you are suppose to protect yourself from other pirates.
Be more pirate. Learn, adapt, ask questions, get better at the game.
forts are generally a waste of time and an unnecessary risk for a lot of people
Loot isn't impressive anymore for the time and the risk just isn't something a person in your shoes needs to do anymore
You didn't ask for advice but I give it anyway because I find complaining unproductive.
Take out skelly ships, megs, loot shipwrecks quickly, do island captain riddles for easy islands like snake island, crescent, mermaids, etc. Anything that isn't huge and has plenty of visibility around it to keep a watch. Snag water and island loot when convenient and valuable. You can also work shipwreck voyages into this which brings in more lootEvents are only worth it when they can be completed efficiently and defended consistently.
I can handle events and I still do my method I'm always telling people about. It's fast it's efficient and it keeps you moving. Tucking isn't an issue when you're moving. Getting snuck up on isn't an issue when you're moving. Moving around a lot not only keeps you safer it gets more things to spawn on you which is more high quality loot to turn in.
We all sink and we all lose loot. We all get frustrated at least for a short time.
Just take the temporary pain and take the steps necessary to adapt to a strategy that works most of the time.People never have to be the best in this game or awesome pvpers all they have to do is increase their efficiency and always be willing to adapt to the environment in a way that makes the most sense for their skills and their comfort zones when it comes to loss and risk.
I'm honestly not sure if I should laugh, cry, advise, or just bid you farewell buddy. I mean, I understand that we are all bound to have unfortunate sessions from time to time. It's no secret that the seas are not always sweet, sometimes they taste bitter. But really, you are complaining from your own mistakes.
- People stole your loot and tucked on your ship because you were not careful. Keep your eyes open.
- Skelly towers kept shooting your ship because you had not position it properly. Just find the right spot, OR kill them damn skellies.
- The loot should take not more than 5 minutes for 3 people to load on the ship. Get it to the nearest place and harpoon it.
I guarantee you 1 000 000% matey, if you invest your energy into adapting and improving, instead of such posts, you will live a much happier pirate life.
So why not try that for a change? Why not just come and ask how to handle things? Obviously you are new to the game, so come and seek advice. Give the game an actual chance before you quit.
And the most important thing I have to ask: what are these mod edit things you were talking about!??!!??!?!???
Yeah, if you are a crew of 3-4, then one player ALWAYS stays on the ship. The lookout , prepares the ship for battle and keeps a constant lookout for incoming threats.
Keep your anchor up, and your broadside pointed towards incoming vessels, and call for your teammates when the threat is close.
It is totally your own fault if you leave your ship unguarded.
@madfrito99 was this a FoF? Because how can you take an hour for that with a 4 man crew? Also, check your ship before bringing the megakeg...
This server had a adventurous pirate ninja that lived off a crew working a fort.
This crew never took the actual threat seriously and paid the ultimate price.
They had biases from other games and presented themselves as easy meat. This crew will ragequit.Lots of lessons to learn here. Cool story, bro.
