Ocean Crawlers and Phantoms spawn way to much

  • Ahoy everyone,

    Currently Ocean Crawlers and Phantoms spawn way to much. I rarely have skeletons spawning as enemys. I really like the new threats but 4 ocean crawlers or phantoms every minute is just annoying. Even skellys didnt spawn that much back then. And then ocean crawlers and phantoms are much harder to defeat.
    I really hope the spawns get tweaked so that the new enemys are a fun experience to encounter. Skellys should stay the main threat. Maybe if Crawlers and Phantoms spawn lesser they could give you more loot. Give them own events and let Ocean Crawler board your ship. And its a little strange that Ocean Crawlers cant go into the water. Please change it, exploring islands and doing normal missions is just not fun at the moment.

  • I disagree on skellies should remain the main threat.

    I'm done with skellies. The new monsters are far more interesting to look at and to fight

    the issue is the loot to monster ratio

    spawn them less and make them drop more while being more difficult or keep them the same and up the drop rate to make it worth it to fight them

    I very much enjoy the visuals and the experience of the fight itself but the loot chance needs increased

    If they become a decent farm source they will bring more loot to the server which is healthy for servers. If people farm them they run the risk of getting sailed up on by sitting too long so there is risk for the reward which balances it out.

  • Spawn rates on new AI threats haven't bothered me much, and I really don't think they're more difficult to defeat than skeletons. Maybe depends on the skeletons? The regular 2-hit emergent ones perhaps, but the tougher higher level voyages one are about the same difficulty.

  • I agree that their spawn frequency is so high that it devalues their presence and becomes an eye-rolling chore, particularly when playing solo. We need to experience some significant amount of down-time between waves - at least sometimes - to truly appreciate them; as with anything, contrast is key.

  • I also really like the new mobs! I suggest that the game developers live a day on any island without a ship, they will really like their favorite mobs for which they don’t give anything and who prevent me from making Athena's voyage! Would you like your online mobs to fall down with your new mobs!

  • Love the new mobs as they present more unique challenge to kill... but be cool to have a siren or ocean stalker encounter where they board ship to attack you like in a early forgotten realms book where enemy called sahuagin would attack ships crossing sea they often rode mantas and utilized sharks... forget books name.... just be a cool rare encounter to see in game if it could be utilized... haven’t really had an issue due to them on spawn rate as long as your prepared with full health bar and cooked food these aren’t an issue.

  • @tenebreate Couldn't agree more. As things are now, there is little room to explore islands. They are not difficult to dispatch, but they are quickly becoming an annoyance when you want to do other things.

    As with all new content - Rare like to crank the dial up to 11 for the first run so that we all get to properly experience everything and get commendations easier.

    It'll settle down once the event passes and we move on!
