Earlier on in the year there was a way to edit the steam game files of sea of thieves to get 120 fov and honestly it should be a base game option. I understand that editing game files are against tos and I respect that rule, however fov is inherently preference, I believe there is a way to make all parties happy and create some type of fov console where you can edit your fov to your liking! Much like a game like TF2 I believe we should be able to edit our fov and weapon fov to our liking, this would be an amazing feature and it would make a lot of players (like myself) happy to see it finally added into the game!
Make 120 fov an option ingame?
The following statement is from a Rare employee and pretty much handles the current situation and their stance on it.
The FOV modification for Steam players was never intentional and has been removed in order to restore the intended settings of Sea of Thieves.
There are no intentions to change this in future.
We will be dropping anchor on this and all future threads re: 120FoV.@deckhands if you would be so kind
