Suggestion: Swabbing the Deck

  • Hello everyone! Have you ever come away from a battle with your ship caked in ash from being set on fire, and more holes and dents than you can count? To top all of that off, you are miles away from an outpost to sell your hard-earned loot and need to pass the time? My suggestion to fix this in one word: mops. I suggest that mops be added to the game in order to clean up your ship. That way if your ship looks a mess you can clean it up. Just a suggestion!

  • Seems like a fun idea. Keep up the suggestions

  • I wouldn't have an issue with this sort of stuff at an outpost within range of the merchant dock just for the role players

but on the seas people have enough distractions and already don't keep up with the important stuff like sails/resources/helpful stuff

  • Man you know this is kinda stupid but you know sometimes when my friends treat me as a roman galley slave I really want that experience you know? so moppin could be good you know? I dunno maybe stupid maybe good. But you know they would have to add dirt and like puke to get swabbed up you know so thats a lot of work. Lets break it down to three points

    • Swabs (skins, usage and like situations)
    • Combat Impact
    • Aeshetics

Anyway, add this RARE, if you feel like it I dunno your game I guess I just bought it you know cool game it good so far I guess I mean kinda soy but kinda weird looking it good.

    what?

  • wait a second pyre??? bro you stole my loot!!! i hate you!!!! dont add this rare dont or im refunding now bad suggestions dont keep up with it!!!

  • @captain-pyre Interesting idea. I like the idea of being able to clean up damage. Maybe not with mops but at an outpost if you swap ship hull skins, or swap a wheel to replace the beat up one.

hahah my crew and I for sure get distracted as it is. Adding another distraction might be bad for some of us!

  • @dr-orchamedes

    lil or lel or lol

you want less content? might as well fire Johnny Depp rare, doc over here doesn’t wanna get distracted xDDD

running and jumping in a trance like a kid at a bouncy house birthday party after a 64 oz bag of skittles is my issue

10 minutes later I snap out of it and realize I've done nothing but ride the guard rails on an imaginary skateboard and I'm off course and about to hit a rock

    HAHA! Exactly!

i wouldn't mind a brush or a bucket on deck that is for roleplaying and to really scrub the deck

  • Yep and expanding tools to maybe reinforce hulls?

  • @capt-t-bust3r
< Pack Good Powder: Up a point of hull damage on one cannonball.
< Strong Plank: mitigates a point of damage maybe? (still suffer a hole, but it isn't as big, and on sloops it's a full repair job to the mast!)

Idk, I'm spitballing, but brain is working hard.

  • @captain-pyre This could be done into a minigame where whoever swabbed the largest area in a set timer wins or something. I don't think it's necessary at all.

There's already an emote to clean the deck anyway.

  • I would never fix up the visible damage my ship ends up with after every session. These battle scars are my little "compilation of pride" everytime.

  • Your battle scars on your boat tell your sessions story.

There's a reason many crews torch their ship at the end of a session, accompanied by grog and a shanty.

  • I dunno....i wouldn't mind having the option to repair some scars....like those rocks you steered into because you forgot to look you don't really want to remember

  • I can see it now! You wipe a fellow Pirate with the mop and it leaves greasy water smears over the screen akin to the vomit effect!

  • I think swabbing the deck wasn't the purpose of cleaning but to get water off of it to prevent sinking. It'd be better that if over time the deck began getting visible water and if not swabbed then it would transfer below.
