Triangular sails would be a great addition to brigatines, and galleons. Not sloops because they are the fastest going into the wind. It would make traveling across the map way easier and faster. Triangular sails help direct wind into sails when traveling against the wind making ships move faster. It could make people who dont usually use galleons try using it due to the increased mobility of the ship. The Triangular sail can be bought at the ship customization shop for 100,000 gold so new players have something to work for that will benefit them greatly.

@bibbedline034 sails that change the speed of the ships would have to be free and available to everyone, based on Rare’s mantra for the game, that everyone starts every session equal. So sure, could be neat.
I imagine they chose square sails for a reason early on in design, but triangular sails, even simply for aesthetic reasons could be cool.@mostexpendable We need more things to work for in the game so its too bad that we cant spend some of our hard earned gold on something that could benefit us.

Everyone is equal in equipment...that's what this game makes fair for starters and veterans...just skill and not perks or whatever other benefits you want to buy
@schwammlgott i said only galleons and brigs because i think it would give sloops an unfair advantage in the ships speed. But they can give sloops the triangular sails too if they want everyone to have the same ship structure.
@schwammlgott It just seems like there should be more things to work for then getting cool cozmetics and the pirate ledgend title. But you are right that everyone should start off with the same stuff.
