Hunter's Call Inventory Books

  • A feature not to dissimilar from the new merchant alliance update could make the hunters call slightly more interesting and technical. By adding a feature similar to the merchant's inventory book, players could see what food sells for the best price where.

    Reading the book will give you the same layout as that of merchant's book;
    The Shores of plenty
    The Ancient Isles
    The Wilds
    Devils Roar

Clicking on one will then tell you which Sea Post are after, and not after, which foods, for example

    Merrick, Steven's Spoils
Sought After - Shark meat + Megalodon
Surplus - Ancient Scales + Chicken

Selling Skark meat / Megalodon meat to Merrick in this instance will give the player twice the gold and extra reputation, selling Ancient Scales / chicken however, the reward would be considerably lower than usual.

In doing this, players will have to decide whether they want to sail around trying to get as much money/reputation as possible or whether they want to stay at the same seapost and earn what they can there.

This is a brilliant Idea Mate!
I mean it's kinda obvious that specific Hunters in specific regions catch enough of an specific Type of fish! Like Devils roar Hunters have definetely enough Devil Fishes! Other sea Posts like in the shores of plenty could need them though and you get more Money for them there! Please Rare make this Idea happen!

  • Hunters call needs an expansion. They could have the fishing quests from that event and the lvl 25 quests have you taking down a kraken or meg. There would be a costume, upgrades for the rod and tankard every 5 lvls and an emissary flag which, at grade 5 would reveal what places have the chances of catching better fish

  • @sailorkek Id sooner hope they abandon hunter's call like the arena. It is easily the worst of the trading companies in adventure mode. It is designed to push the grind with minimal reward.

Money from it sucks, Rep from it sucks, the ship set with the exception of the cannons is terrible. The face that you need 2100 specific fish and 50 pieces of garbage makes it a very not fun faction.

I dont think making certain fish or meat more valuable at one place over another would make it more fun, it would just change the tedium.

  • I do also think the animal voyages from the Merchants should just be a Hunters Call voyage instead

  • You know what I'm 100% down!!! I usually hate recycling content but this makes absolute sense. Also Hunters Call needs more attention for sure.

  • I feel like this would diminish the uniqueness of the MA. While not a bad idea overall, the last thing this game needs is more redundant or reused concepts.

  • @captain-coel I wish I could downvote you but I can't so it is what it is. You're entitled to your opinion, I'm guessing you lean more to the PvP side of PvPvE like myself, but why would you want it abandoned instead of improved? A hunter guild makes 100% sense, food is important. Even though I usually do combat sometimes I do just like to chill on a nice island and fish until next encounter happens, and I love hunting and fishing irl, so shouldn't I be better rewarded for a rare ingredient? I live in Montana and you can get alot of money foraging for huckleberrys and morel mushrooms. Cooks love that stuff, so why would it be any different in SoT?

  • @lygushkia maybe if it was useful, but HC is just bad. the minigame lost its novelty after the like 3rd cast. Outside of eating rare fish to take screenshots there is no point to the company.

  • This will be a nice QOL and small improvement for the Hunter calls but of course it not enough for it to increase their level by another 25lvl until get a proper voyage which is unlikely since the company is mostly about getting all new sort of foods, feeding hungry pirates and just hunting fish for small bit of profit if I remember

Why abandon it when they can improve it?

    Arena. COUGH COUGH

  • @galactic-geek maybe if Rare stopped giving the reapers attention with every update they'd actually do something about the arena, I don't know how they can really justify leaving the Arena servers up with how it is right now.
