I keep seeing whole crews wearing black clothes with black hair. I'm pretty sure this is some kind of a death cult, or something. Especially since the game has gotten much darker. Why do so many pirates dress exactly the same? It's spooky, and disconcerting. As a dashing, well coiffed pirate with an impeccable fashion sense I find it hard to believe there's so many swashbucklers that want to look so drab all the time. It has to be a cult!
Is there some kind of cult in this game?

it's a meta called tuccing
@musicmee I want to say, Barrel emote is single most awesome item in this game. So whoever in Rare came out with that idea. Kudos
Bow to the power of the flame!
Seriously though, yeah, most people are just trying to have the stealthy "tucc" clothes. It's way too cliche. It's a cult of PvP wannabes.
I actually like black and red though, so I always wear darker outfits. The tuck outfit is mainly for stealth players who don't know what they are doing (with the exception of the sloop voyage table tuck) and watch too many streamers and think they can pull off the same stealth tricks. Real stealth players can hide in anything and don't rely on camping islands to get their steals but instead walk among the enemy crew without the enemy realizing it.
In regards to the death cult look, the best look is Black Dog cosmetics (no hat cause it's awful) with black hair and Order of Souls eye curse.
