VR options for SoT

    Hi there,
    there isn't a search option for forum thread, or i did not found it, and i have read some pages of forum threads first and don't see it.

    So, here it is :
    I wanna play SoT in VR (with the use of Vorpx) but i did not try it atm, cause i don't know if i can use it safely or not, and i want to know if it a traight "no, it's againt rules or it's cheat" or if it can be use withtout fear of being see as a cheater.

    Playing SoT in VR can be a good experience, especially for some creative projects (and RP project) and would like to see if it can maybe be possible on the future private servers (as these one are for creatives...)

    What is your opinion on this VR thingy ?

    it would be cool to see sot in VR, however, whoever uses that in-game against other pirates will get slaughtered lol. Calling that a cheat is not accurate as it's more of a handicap.

    My opinion is:

    • You were smart to post here first to ask
    • VR, at least currently, won't provide you with an advantage over any other players so I don't see an issue with it, but I'm not Rare
    • SoT in VR would be so cool, so I hope you/we the community get a nod or at least shrug from Rare to go ahead

    Yep, or at least would be cool to be able to use it for creative materials, on private sessions, it could make some Good RP materials, and really awesome way to play, including real puking (imagine yourself, playing in VR while in the tempest... XD)

    I used to talk about this idea a lot with some of my buddies. If there was a way to queue with people who were only using VR, then I think it could totally work! It's would be an opt in so if you feel like you'd get sick on a boat in VR then simply do not use VR in Sot (hypothetically)

    My worry about doing SoT in VR is the motion sickness. Oh boy I can feel it already

    Yeah, this ☝🏻
    Sure it would be cool, but sailing will probably make this a vomit simulator

    If you have your "space legs", it would be ok :)
    A youtube already made a video of him playing SoT in VR using vorpx, and he seem to be well and not puking everywhere.
