Maybe dont let the meg spawn during pvp encounters

  • Twice now. TWICE we've been attacked on our sloop by a pos megalodon while the other ship has free reign to light us up and basically win the fight for free. Who designed the meg to do this? Why does it focus solely one ship and the one at the least advantage at that? Did a 2 year old design the AI here? At least have it attack both ships because when a brig is lighting your sloop up and you get constantly flung off the damn ship by the stupid big shark its impossible to win. Such terrible design really.

  • pve during pvp and pvp during pve is the algorithm that keeps the game interesting

stay below deck when you hear charging music

  • Meg Spawns on a Sloop....DONT SHOOT IT!
It wont suddenly attack you unless you tick it off.

  • @opoc1l1pse The random PvE during PvP is what makes the PvP encounters different and interesting from all the other PvP encounters. Yea, it’s sometimes quite awful to deal with, but if you walk out the other side of that encounter in the WIN column, you have quite the story to tell

  • @opoc1l1pse agreed. It doesn't add to the game, it just makes a tense moment infuriating.

Honestly I don't think the megs add to the game, and they're far too common to feel at all realistic.

Megs are by far one of the coolest things in the game. They are huge and are pretty much the only thing that makes you feel small in the game other than krakens which are less encountered. An important feeling when dealing with the deep blue.

They may not be everyone's cup of tea for a loot source but the experience of them existing really adds to the environment

  • @omgitsnegan because the rest of the game is so realistic? Like living skeletons, the kraken, skeleton ships spawn out of the water, you can shoot yourself out of a cannon, dieing leads you to a ferry, you eat bananas/coconuts/pineapples without pealing and as a whole, these old guns can shoot under water and don't need to dry afterwards...right, this game is almost a life simulation....

Anyway, PvE encounters while PvP are fine, especially the meg is very useful...when it appears sail near an island, it will leave and if you're lucky it can also start attack the enemy...
Skeleton ships in a fight are more dangerous, but attack both of you..
Kraken is a bit...unfair, I guess...as it appears on just one ship, but only on a brig and galleon spawning it can be a real problem, as on the sloop it's dead under 30 seconds

    These encounters keep it interesting...

I liked it better when it didn't pop up every fifteen minutes. When there was a summoning ritual and it was hard to kill?

    THAT was fun.

  • @schwammlgott there wouldn't be a hundred 50 foot sharks in an area this size. I can't go 10 minutes without one popping up. It's silly.

If you don't kill it, just let it disappear through going near an island, it can follow you and appear again...had the same meg following me for hours sometimes

  • @opoc1l1pse L M A O You has it coming!! Hahahahahahaha

  • @opoc1l1pse apparently you've never been fighting a player ship, Meg and Skelly galleon at the same time also while fighting Flameheart lol true story

  • @opoc1l1pse

This is a PvEvP game, just as you can encounter PvP while doing your PvE.... the PvE might show up while you are doing PvP.

  • If you decided to stay and figh that brig in a direct clash while the meg spawned on you, this is on YOU bro. You should have disengaged near an island so the meg can despawn, and then continue your battle with that brig.

  • It isn't a game for fair and balance pvp competition. It's a pvpve game where you get to live through adventures ! And those moments when pve and pvp mix are great occasions for creating good stories !

  • Personally, I love the immergent aspects of the game, during all activities. At a certain point, this game becomes pretty boring. (You can only remain busy for so long before you automatically start min/maxing.

The spawns of AI keep things interesting. Besides, I can't tell you how many times I've been solo on a sloop, and board an enemy ship just to agro the AI to assist in my fight.

    It's all about perspective, mate.
