i think sea of thieves needs to expand it's clothing library and types of clothing just a little bit. i think the perfect things to start with would be a daring new idea in the sea of thieves, yet simple and fitting, are cat ears. They're cute, and the sea of thieves need just a little more cute. Some pirates don't want to be so intimidating. These could be available as a hat, or even part of a costume, exclusive to the emporium or not.

That just wouldn’t fit sea of thieves. It is meant to be a pirate game, and as such it needs to be accurate to the times and to the pseudo-mythology that developed around sailor’s tales. Cat ears wouldn’t fit for the same reason that a baseball cap wouldn’t fit, it’s just not something that pirates would (or could) wear.
Putting up a tough front is an important thing among pirates and other criminal groups that operate outside the law. Thinking about expressions of cuteness among the more civilized segments of society from that time period, you might consider adding things like bonnets, ribbons, lace, wigs and puffy dresses. How far you might want to take that is another question though.
