Gold/Doubloons buff to every trading company with Reaper's Bones in the session

  • First of all
    Good day everyone! I want to apologize in advance for my English and I wish you will understand main idea, so let's start!

    Introduction
    I'm not a big fan of PvP, but once a month (or might even twice?) I have to rise Reaper's Bone emissary flag and grind emissary points to get a new sails. And usually my journey looks like:
    -- Look! Emissary ship! Oh, they left.
    -- Look! Another one! Oh, they left too...
    -- Lo... Eh, forget about that. Let's just dig for treasures.
    And that is really sad.

    What can be added?
    Some sort of gold/doubloons buff for every emissary ship (might not only for emissary) which is on server (And NOT for Reaper's Bone ship!).
    Example: If Reaper's Bone emissary has 1st lvl flag +XX% (10?) gold and doubloons to OTHER emissary ships. 2nd lvl - +XX% (20?) and same with other levels.

    Why it should be added?

    1. First, by reason what was described above. Risk have to be paid.
    2. At the same time Reaper's Bone will have a chance to gain extra ships on server (more ships -> more loot).
    3. There will be less crews which will be here only for PvP. I really hate this moment: they are without any emissary flag and just chasing Reaper's Bone ships. What will they lose? Nothing. What will Reaper's Bone lose? Everything.

    Example: I'm a Merchant Alliance emissary and also we have a Reaper's Bone ship on our server, so my team has 3 ways:

    • Rise and risky grind flag level regularly looking around;
    • Try to fight them and have a dangerous enemies which probably will try to revenge;
    • Or just leave and search for another peaceful server;
      What should I choose if I'm from Merchant Alliance? Hm...

    And this will affect on profit growth for everyone. One will have gold/doubloons bonus and other will have the same bonus, but indirectly.

    After words
    Again and again I want to say sorry for my English. Wish y'all will have a good day!

  • The easiest fix for emissaries leaving the server once a reaper appears is just to remove reapers from the map. Emissary ships will still leave, even with a gold bonus, if they can still see the reapers.

  • @d3adst1ck If people can't see the reapers, they'll just assume there is alwasys a level 5 reaper on every server and not use the emissary system anymore.

  • @the-song42 They can already see whether there is a reaper when they log in by checking the tables, the problem is that they can also see them while they're out doing voyages so as soon as one appears they go back to an outpost, sell and leave the server.

    All a gold bonus would do is give them extra gold as they are leaving, because they will know exactly when a reaper appears while at sea. If emissaries leaving the server is a problem for reapers, it's because they can see the reapers all the time. Changing gold amounts isn't going to fix that.

  • @d3adst1ck I disagree. I think the best way to stop people leaving is to take away lvl 5 reapers ability to see others on the map. More people will be willing to hang around if they know the reapers will have to search them out normally instead of getting a map.

  • @william-flint I think both should be gone, but it's primarily the reapers appearing on the map that causes other ships to start shutting down and leaving. Emissaries will start disappearing long before a Reaper gets close to grade 5.

    I'd be fine with no one showing on the map unless they are using the Reaper Mark.
