I disagree with you, I already got my 240 wins and I just want to clear out that my disagree is not related to thought like "if you want to have it work as hard as me, lowering the wins would make it unfair for people like me who had to grind for double the time".
I've told this story many times already, but I'm willing to tell this again:
The way I got my 240 wins was very simple, me and friend have played a bunch of time together and started noticing some sinergy. We weren't good at the time tbh, we were the typical barely decent PL that thinks he's experienced just because he played a lot to get there. So, I've been wanting legendary weapons for a while now and tried some open crew Arena games (the old one) to see what would happen. I did get some wins but it still was kind of hard (we all know what dealing with open crews in gelleons arena feels like), so I asked my new friend about playing some duo arena and he told me he also wanted to get the legendary weapons. So we decided to get better and so we forced PvP for the next weeks to improving inspired by the upcoming Competition of Courage combined with sloop Arenas and Arena 2.0 (which really made farming the commendation faster).
Winning in arena doesn't require to be good since there's no real matchmkaing based on skill, you just need to be better than the other players in the lobby.
Gotta say we really made a good choice deciding to play sloop Arena, way more balanced and enjoyable than Galleon's Arena, you also are more in control of the game.
So, even tho we weren't that good at this time, we still were better of the majority of the players we were doing very good. We also discovered how easy ti was to farm points on ships with very bad/not full crews but decided to avoid that to focus on getting good. We had quite some free time in that period so we did set ourselves a 10 wins per day goal, wouldn't log off until we got those (which takes about 3 hours). We actually got 10 win a day barely losing any at all actually. We were really into it at first, at the end of each game we were discussing META, strategies to try, which on did or didn't work and why, our attitude really made improve quickly. Initially we were doing a 10 games win streak per day because 1) a lot of new players were joining th Arena because of the Competition of Courage; 2) Because the first days of a new mode are always the one were the players who adapt fast to and come up with good strategies usually win, and we were really into it. But at the end of you 240 wins voyage we were getting 10 wins a day because of all our experience, we were completely different players.
I got very good with aiming the cannon while curving, from far away, when and where to shoot, my aim improved and my decision making on boarding got exponentially higher day by day. Knowing when and how to board, how to deal with the situation adapting in real time, which weapon to use, when to use it and how. While my friend (if my job was primarily to take down other ships/keeping them unoperative by boarding, getting the chest/selling it and clearing outposts; my friend's job was to keep the ship from sinking, always giving me the best angle to shoot while positioning the ship out of enemy range, harpooning the chest with or without me and firing cannons while I was not on the ship) improved his decision making about the ship positioning, he really learnt how to efficiently manouver the ship, how to prevent other players to board the ship, how ti distract the enemy to make a chance for me to board, and as me he improved his aim, overall PVPing and shooting with cannons aswell.
It was quite a journey, we could make it one month by playing 3 hours every day but everyone could do the same by playing just 1-3 games a day (HOW much you play every day doesn't really matter, just do it regularly. During my life I was studying for school as well as having a part-time job, while having very little time for my hobbies, I got from Diamond 5 to Diamond 1 in league of legends by playing just 1 game each day, 2 if the first ended quickly. Perceverance, effort, mindset and constancy are very important factors, way more than just the amount of hours you play), just find a good partner that you can trust and play regularly with him on sloop Arena.
The day we got the weapons we bot had a very good feeling, all the time we spent improving felt worth. We didn't just play to get some cosmetics, that journey also really changed us as players which made "Legendary Seadog" feel like the wortihest commendation to grind for. Most of the grindy commendation are just hollow, what's left for you when you get those grindy achievement? Felt nothing for Athena 20, "Sailor of Athena's Fortune, "Legendary Merchant Trader", nor for unlocking the full ghost set, they are just titles I have and they mean nothing to me. "Legendary Seadog" is a title I'm proud of, not beacause it was hard, sooner or alter you will get it regardless of your skill level, I was proud because it reminded me of that one month and a half journey that made me the pirate I am today.
