I wasn't wrong, and you're still correct. I specifically said that the galleon was the fastest going FORWARD with the wind. Going with the crosswind is sideways, not forward....

Agreed but again, you can solo sail a Brig easily. Takes seconds to adjust the sails.

Takes longer to adjust a damn sail on a Galleon than it does to raise an Anchor on a Brig!

And to find 1 - 2 crewman that are actually gonna consistently work sails...that’s asking a lot lol.

It may take seconds to adjust the sails, but it's still faster to do on a sloop. You're also forgetting that it takes seconds to not only adjust the sails, but it takes seconds to adjust each sail, to turn the wheel, to raise each sail, to drop the anchor, for the anchor to drop, and for the ship to stop its momentum (more if you're drifting). So good luck avoidi g that rock! Or islands. 😏

It's also a glass cannon, easily succeptible to sinking - even to more powerful PvE that you might be able to handle on your own. 🦑🦈

Why do people keep saying Brig is the fastest ship....

Sloop is fastest headwind, Galleon is fastest tailwind, and Brig is fastest sidewind.
None can actually be labeled fastest.

Actually, they can - the galleon is the fastest because it literally is the fastest moving forward

It is the fastest - but only directly with the wind. For sheer overall top speed no other ship beats that. Period. A brig going at its fastest in the crosswind is not faster than a galleon going directly with the wind. The brig, however, is faster than the galleon if both ships are going into the crosswind. Do you get what I'm saying? I hope so, because regardless of how I may have phrased it earlier, that's what I was trying to say.
