Confused about Gold Hoarder lore. Lore buffs help me out!

    So we went to the shores of gold to kill the Gold Hoarder.

    He is i guess the leader of the gold hoarders right?

    So why arent they angry at us?
    How come they still pitch tents near the order of souls who now has their skull?

    Wouldnt they want that?

    Also with him dead who is their leader now?

    Im really confused.
    Anyone know whats going on and why gold hoarders arent trying to kill us?

    At the end holding the skull your pirate says "Shores of gold are finally safe"
    Safe from what?
    Werent we the invaders?

    From my understanding...
    The GH "Skeleton Lord" was once a man who started the GH faction. After succumbing to his own greed and death, came back to reclaim what he lost...His gold but doing so transformed into what he is now.

    Why do the GH not care about the Skeleton Lord after defeating him? Greed...more gold for themselves after all...every GH outpost they are slowly turning gold themselves.

    Just because the First Gold Hoarder is dead doesn't mean the faction stops functioning. There is a hierarchy in place (The Brotherhood, as seen in the Origins comic books) and it wouldn't surprise me if someone simply took over his position as leader.

    3 main reasons.

    The Gold lures you in and creates an insatiable addiction to it, hence why the Gold Hoarders are always untrustworthy of the player. The Gold Hoarders gone? Then we don't have to send any to Tribute Peak.

    The Gold Hoarders seem to be somewhat terrified of the Gold Hoarder. They join the company to make money like in the comic but don't understand until it's too late. They're not allowed to leave and the Gold Hoarder will assume you are stealing from him if you do.

    The Gold Hoarder has returned anyway. How or in what condition is unknown, so the Shores of Gold arc didn't really matter.

    I hope this clears things up.

    The Gold Hoarder has mysteriously returned, although by what power remains unknown. Tavern tales speak of him serving a greater lord of the sea, with a conquest of the #SeaOfThieves itself promised as reward.

    i mean safe from rathbone no had no right to the gold as well that's cursed gold and yeah the gold hoarders are trying to kill us if we get greedy like them and try to plunder their vaults and who knows who the gold hoarder leader is now
