Villages for pillagers

  • I believe it would be interesting to have villages or towns that crews can interact with in a positive or negitive way
    Different towns would be spread through out the sea of thieves
    The player has two options, attack for instant loot or help out said village for influence over them which will lead to long term perks such as frequent gifts, protection and supplies

    Players can gain influence with a Town by sinking surrounding hostile ships such as skellies and attacking player ships (the village would offer a generous gift for those who protect it from the threat of another player)

    The player will have a level of influence with every individual town whether it be positive or to the point where they shoot on sight

    Other notes:
    A village will deploy a smoke signal to tell that village is under attack and can be defended for the great influence and gift reward
    The player will have different levels of influence with each town
    The towns may offer such services such as protection, supplies, a daily gift and stores

  • You could also gain influence by preforming actions and favours to the village

  • There are some problems to this. For starters how do u get long term perks in a session based game.
    Also where would the villages go, theres no more room for more islands and to hold a village they would have to be kinda bug. Thirdly it feels like attacking villages would just be a bunch of free loot.
