If an arctic region is coming, we absolutely need ice sheets all over the place in the water. I wouldn't make these damage the ship when ran over, but they would have collision for players.
Imagine being able to run up to an enemy ship and shoot at them when attempting to board, or having them flip around in the water depending on where you stand. Sign me up.
Just a pipe dream I know, but I can't help but think an artic region is coming, what with that cool new costume & ship cosmetics and all, and the million of posts on arctic regions. If an artic region isn't coming, I'd be very surprised at this point since the bottom or top of the map makes perfect sense for one.
