I think they should add a fast travel system for when you gotta cross large distances across the sea of thieves, say if your down at devils ridge but you now got a mission on marauder's arch. Instead of traveling all the way across the map, you can go to the closest outpost/sea post and pay say 5,000 gold to fast travel to a spot on the northern end of the map.
Long distance fast travel
@duffys-fury how would this work for other players ? Would they just see you popping around ? Especially since a whole ship would need to “fast travel”.
@callmebackdraft yeah that's a detail that would have to be ironed out, so you make a good point. I guess I only thought of the very basic concept lol

No thanks
No. Absolutely not.
Imagine, if you will, a ship that has just escaped a pvp chase. They're now in the Shores of Plenty, and they're running low on supplies. The PvP ship now fast travels to the region because they saw their mark enter that region, and there's nothing the other player can do but run. Again.
Or imagine you're PvP player, sailing up on a ship to get the drop on them, when suddenly they disappear and are transported all the way across the map. You've now wasted your time, and every ship you approach has an instant escape button.
Now let's say you've got a ship full of loot, but you're not near an outpost. You don't want to risk dying, so you just fast travel to the Shores of Plenty (it quite frankly has the best Outpost layout) and sell all your loot without any risk at all.
So no.
