  • Catch them before they get there or you don't deserve the loot either.

  • @yonnyboy4

Loots isn't theres and the loot isn't yours. If you can't catch them then be better. They got away, you lost. Do better next time.

  • @xultanis-dragon any ship can escape any ship by sailing into the wind (sloop) or crosswind (brig) or into the wind (gall) and with the red sea all around you it does matter how skilled you or they are

Not every ship is good at running away, not every ship is good at chasing. Not every fight starts with the ship running away into the red sea, not every chase goes in a straight line the whole entire time.

There are lot of things that happen and a lot of things you can do before the person decides to go into the red sea.

The mouse got away from the cat.

Be a better cat and catch the mouse next time around.

    OP vs. The commonwealth?
    2 over 0.

  • I agree if they choose to sink into the red sea it should redrawn at border.

It's starting to become a thing like it was when game come out.

Not a bad thing but it's sad to see grade 5 reapers do it

  • The whole point of the red sea is
A to keep people on the map, but mainly B to run into it as a “if i cant have no one can” kind of gesture. Im pretty sure loot not floating up is intentional, but if its not then its like many other good glitches on these seas.

  • @doomscorp

Loot floats up. If you have a crewmate you can get to it. Takes time though and lots of teamwork.

Sloops can make it, brigs are harder. I haven't tried on a galleon yet but if 3 crews mates work on repairs and buckets you might be able to get to the loot, harpoon all of it and make it back out alive.

    I've done it on sloops.

  • Yeh but thats still a lot harder than just regular sinking, plus most people dont follow u into the red sea.

  • @doomscorp

Its the whole point. If a person goes out to the red sea your job is to catch them before they do that. If they do you have a decision, try to chase them into it and grab the loot or just accept that they got away and the loot is lost.

This game is about decisions and just because they sank doesn't mean you should get the loot.

I've lost about 2 to 3 people to the red sea out of the 3 years of chasing I've done. All the other ones I've caught.

Not gonna lie, I was salty about the ones who made it to the red sea. I was mad that they made it all the way in there and I was mad that I didn't catch them in time. Those few times they made it was because I messed up on the anchor ball, or the chainshot, or just in the driving because they legitimately juked me.

After about a day though I let it go. Good on them from successfully running away and throwing all that stuff into the red sea. They worked for it and decided they would rather get rid of it then let me have it so good on them.

  • As an avid solo slooper I have done this on occasions where I feel those hunting my ship are undeserving of the loot onboard.
By that I mean if they are good sports i'll usually admit defeat and let the opposing crew take the spoils but if aforementioned crew are little toe rags with nothing but salt and foul language.. well it's off to the Red the loot goes purely to add some more salt to the crews pile while I laugh at them maniacally.

Not the greatest of tactics, sure, but it serves a purpose.

  • @xultanis-dragon

So loot is respawning after the despawn wall?

You can get loot out of the red but only if they don't pass the despawn point. (Pirates get safezoned instead of despawned)...

Unless something changed this update and I'm gonna need a clip.

So even if the ship goes past the despawn wall the loot is still there. You just have to get close enough to harpoon it.

Its hard to do but not impossible. I wouldn't advise doing it if you have loot on board though.

Loot is still there, you can see it. Just have to harpoon it. If you swim out to it then right back to your ship you go.

  • This tactic is fair. They are 100% going to lose their loot. They feel they have absolutely no chance at beating you in a fight and can’t run away from you.

Rather than try and maybe get away or possibly even sink you, shoot even drive-by selling can be done solo, they choose to admit defeat quickly and move on to another server or quit for the day.

These people may suffer from some sort of delirium and think that they won since no one gets the loot but fact is, we all know they lost. Turning in the loot is the only form of “winning” in this kinda of game.

On a serious note, ya gotta surprise people when they are at an island busy doing things. It takes a bit of time to learn but once you do, it’s great watching crews scramble.
