Flameheart Resurrected! (Boss Ship and dungeon combined)

  • Its inevitable that Captain Flameheart will grow in strength and power. Eventually he may try and rejoin the land of the living.
When he does he is going to want to reclaim the sea of thieves as his own and dethrone the pirate king.

Having sailed his astral ship against us in his ghost fleet, he likely will want to upgrade his current ship to make his return to the grave a lot harder. This ship will form a new NPC boss ship.

    Introducing Captain Flameheart reborn.
He will sail a massive Man’0’war, with an army of undead minions onboard.

The ship serves not only as a new enemy but also a dungeon...

The ship will be hard to defeat, several decks and levels and several cannons and crew. Defeating the ship in combat does not sink it. It simply disables it where it cant move or fire. A musical note will queue this.

Once this happens, the dungeon phase commences.
4 Decks below the main deck lies a final room with the Captain in there. You must pull up alongside and board it. Fight to the bottom level where the captain waits, Each deck with obstacles, skellies and so forth.

Holding out in one of the ships levels, defeating a few waves at a time, will spawn a skelly that drops a key. The key unlocks the next level below. Work your way down to the level below, fighting waves and collecting more keys, finally reaching the bottom of the ship where a final boss battle ensues, as well as a horde of treasure.

When the captain is killed, the ship sinks and all the loot floats to the top. Think of it as a mobile skelly fort! Best escape before it sinks though or a trip to the ferry you will find yourself!

Occasionally Flameheart’s Man’0’war ship will be sailing in the server, other times he will be doing a normal ghost fleet event, biding his time to rejoin the living.

I think this would be awesome. A mobile skelly ship /Dungeon heavily reliant on teamwork and cooperation. Throw in a reapers mark on the ship in question and you have a fun and tense time ahead.

  • Yes, Yes, YESSSSHHH!!! Yarrrrrrrrrrrrr

Could even make it at a static place like FotD and spawn it using some kind of thing... like Ghost Ritual Skull

  • @handsh0t Would certainly give more use to having these skulls for sure!

  • Firstly you'd have to kill the Flameheart event boss to get a Ghost Ritual Skull whereafter you can go to his 'man-o-war' fort where there's a barnarcle ton of Ghost skelly's you cannot kill until you place the Ghost Ritual Skull. sounds neat :)

  • I get the aspect of fighting your way through the ship but I would suggest Captain Flameheart waits in his Captains quarters, he is the captain after all.
Maybe the each level has a wave of skeltons lead by a captain who drops the key to the next level, killing the final captain gives you the Cabin Key to go and fight Flameheart.

  • @sailorkek Well i thought that traditionally, Captain Flameheart has his quarters at the bottom of the ship.

Main reason is the entire lower deck is a private living quarters instead of a small room.

Given the fact he has been resurrected but not fully regained his strength, he would want to remain reclusive so as to not appear weak among his crew.

The captain you see piloting it is infact not the captain, but a helmsman. His crew take care of all the ship duties while Flameheart is down below in luxury, plotting and planning his attack on the pirate lord.

Blackbeard from POTC universe was a recluse and his absence reinforced a kind of intimidation.
