Your game is titled "Sea of Thieves", and with with all the environmental threats the game presents to players I feel the gameplay you created is focused on "thieving" from the environment. I truly enjoy the "environment" you created within this game. I enjoy it so much I spend much time playing, and am willing to take the time to write this feedback. What is not enjoyable is the constant harassment, trickery, and being taken advantage of by those who play only to harm others enjoyment of the game. This disruptive behavior by those who are seeking PvP gameplay subsequently trains and conditions the PvE player to be anti-social, weary of meeting others, combative, and unable to take in your "environment". I could go on forever.... in a nut-shell, please remove PvP from Adventure mode.

Nearly every event that they come out with contains thieving from players as a main objective. The game is focused on "thieving" from players.
@spacialagent this is a pvp game. Notice how there is no penalty for sinking you. Infact there are missions for doing this. A whole pvp faction. If you cant take the heat...
@D3ADST1CK So says the defender of someone who enjoys making others feel bad. Rare invests enormous amounts of money, human capital, and creativity into "nearly every event" having players play against the environment. They are not created to force players into combat with each other.
They are designed like that, that is why you can see them from the other side of the map.
Millions of players enjoy this game exactly as it is. PvE can make me 'feel bad' sometimes, remove that too?The game was designed from the ground up PvEvP.

I don't think you have any clue what my motivations are, and it only shows how weak your argument is by immediately jumping to the conclusion that I'm out to "make others feel bad".
The fact is that every monthly event is at least partially focused on driving player interaction, which includes PvP.
Ashen Winds - Flaming Skull weapon
Haunted Shores - Wraith cannonballs
Lost Treasures - added the Event Hub with Fort Nights
Ships of Fortune - Emissaries and the addition of the PvP faction Reaper's Bones.
Heart of Fire - Blunderbombs, Athena Run voyage which has set locations for digs
Crews of Rage - New cursed chest with commendation specifically for stealing it
Legends of the Sea - added Reaper's Bounty
The Seabound Soul - added firebombs
Fort of the Damned - self explanatory
Smuggler's Fortune - commendations for stealing Rag & Bone crates
Dark Relics - Reaper's Chest
Black Powder Stashes - ships hauling kegs all over on voyages that cross paths on purpose. The game is built around players coming across each other and fighting over loot.

Nah, so says the devs.

Joe Neate: "The whole core premise of SOT is that it’s a shared world. To get to Pirate Legend, there will be danger and there will be other players, the risk and the reward is all part of it …that’s what SOT has always been, it’s a shared world adventure game, there is a purpose to that…it’s all about a shared world and we have no intention to deviate from that."
https://youtu.be/e_yrN70591Q?t=3578
We don't want to split players, we don't want to split player types, the whole identity of sea of thieves is a shared world and the different kind of motivations within it.
https://www.seaofthieves.com/forum/topic/112764/the-thinking-behind-emissaries-and-ledgers?page=1
We want players to experience the thrill of a player ship versus another player ship in battle. Turning the chance of these encounters off completely has never felt like Sea of Thieves.
Things literally can't get any clearer than that can they?
- Player interactions are working as intended and the way they are by design.
- There is no intentions of changing and unbalancing them.
Create as many new threads (or new accounts) to ask the same thing over and over again, it won't change these facts.

Sounds like somebody got killed by pirates in a pirate game.
@spacialagent bil is clear, consistent and nonderogatory. Taking pvp away is like saying you dont like people shooting you in cod. Its the design of the game. All the content here is dazzling, but its just distractions from pvp.

They aren't bullying you mate. They're just telling you how ridiculous your 'feedback' is.

Please, quit the playing the victim as it is unbecoming nor helps your point - which is dead in the water by the way. Not a person here "bullied" you and it is pathetic that you think so.
You are refusing to accept what the game is about, which is a shared adventure where you do not know the motives of others...which includes the possibility of someone being a bloodthirsty cutthroat. The developers have repeatedly said that PvP is part of the game and not griefing nor harassing - it can be IF they are being verbally abusive but simply attacking others and stealing their loot (or not for that matter) is perfectly acceptable. They are not being "disruptive", they are playing the game as designed and as intended. You were never guaranteed a safe voyage by the developers nor any of the advertising, in fact it states quite the opposite.
How you "feel" the game was intended is irrelevant and wrong, especially when the developer has stated otherwise. They are the ones that know what they intended when they made this game, not you or any of the many other accounts you choose to make to inflate this so-called "demand" for PvE servers.
@SpacialAgent Not everyone here is a bully or lacks empathy, but everyone here has almost certainly heard your argument - or something like it - before.
Posts calling for PvE-only servers are a dime a dozen, as a quick scroll through the feedback+suggestions thread will show you. That being said, there is a fairly stiff learning curve to SoT, and it can be daunting for new players, trying to learn the mechanics of the game all the while fending off marauding pirates. Trust me when I say it does get easier. The first time you turn the tables on a crew that thought to sink you for supper is hugely rewarding - far more so than even the most engaging PvE content.
I'm going to cheat now and copy/paste in something I wrote to the last person who made a thread like this one - I hope it helps:
Ahoy there new pirate! I am sorry your first days on the Sea have been disheartening ones - I promise not everyone in this community is toxic. In fact, there are many pirates here, and many discord communities too, that are more than happy to greet new players and introduce them to this really quite amazing game.
As with any multiplayer game, however, there are players who go out of there way to ruin someone else's fun. If you stick with the game - and I really hope you do - you will quickly learn there are many ways to avoid such players, and indeed, avoiding or out-pirating such players can even add to the game's fun ;)
I hope you don't think it presumptuous of me, but here are a few quick tips that really helped me when I started playing:
1: Watch The Horizon Like A Hawk. Enemy ships are usually pretty easy to spot and avoid, or attack if you feel like it.
2: Assume Everyone Is Hostile. Guilty until proven innocent is really the motto of the day on the Sea, I'm afraid.
3: Use The Scuttle Ship Option. If you are getting griefed, don't be afraid to scuttle your ship and start afresh somewhere else. Alternatively, you can server-hop. I know many players will see this as a 'cowardly' way out, but stuff that. If you are being spawn-camped or repeatedly abused by the same pirates, simply leave and find somewhere else to have fun.
4: Never Sail Alone. This game is much, MUCH easier if you play with some else, and there are many groups that actively seek new members and will be happy to have you.
5: Remember - Being Sunk, Killed And Robbed Is Not Toxic. In fact, it is a core game mechanic. Expect to get sunk, killed and robbed often when you first start playing. This game is PvEvP, and you should expect conflict with other players. It is part of the game and part of what adds spice to the PvE.Anyway, I hope that helps a bit and I hope you stick with the game. Fair winds to ye!
@spacialagent No offense, but did you even look at what the game was, the reviews, and how it has been advertised before you bought it? RARE always has and always will advertise the game as a PVPVE open world experience because that’s what it is. It has always had and always will have elements of both PVE and PVP. Both elements are essential to making the game what it is.

This is because the PvE get the loot, the PvP steel it...more PvE Events...more loot to rob...

Yes, but it means stealing the chest from a hole in the ground, not another pirate apparently..

If I come to steal your loot and sink you I am not there to harm your enjoyment of the game. I am there to provide the challenge that is set upon you for threading the seas of thieves, as that is something that I enjoy to do and what is described in the game as a freedom of my choice. If you don't like the ways of my sea life, you are more than welcome to strike me down or sail away or if you would even dare engage into a negotiation a parley so to say? It wouldn't be the first time I struck a truce and it most definitely won't be the last... yet, those that complain don't tend to treat me very kindly or simply don't have the time to do so...
I am a thief, I am a pirate and I am out to plunder the treasures that can be found on the decks of your ship or on the lands within the world. Not to destroy your enjoyment, but to provide in my own.... there is no malicious intent in my actions, it is just the pirate life for me. Sometimes people come for me and sometimes I come for them... that is just how it is on the seas... sometimes the people coming for me are those that I came for to begin with... over and over and over again.
To be fair I hope you are a good enough of a sport that regardless of the outcome of this game that we play you will have had a good time being challenged by me or there to provide me with a challenge. Sometimes you might win and sometimes you might lose that is the true reality of playing a game.
Are you not a pirate out on the seas? One of equal quality as my own, your ship is as strong as mine, your health and strength are that of equal value. This is a PvEvP game a shared world where you play with and against others. You call others a bully for being a thief and a pirate? You are not a victim and we are not bullies... you are a contestant, a willing participant upon the waves with the same opportunities and abilities as any other.
Watch that horizon, spot those sails and decide how you will respond to them! Be the pirate you want to be, we have all the freedom to decide our path and it is upon us to walk it. Start taking the responsibility of your choices and become the pirate you want to be!

@SpacialAgent PvP aka thieving is one of the core concepts of this game. It adds a lot of replayability. Either you learn to adapt or you move on to other games.

You have interpreted the environmental threats wrong. It's not focused on thieving from the environment. It's a pirate game.
I truly enjoy the "environment" you created within this game.
I enjoy it too. Bloodthirsty pirates, Megs, Krakens, Skelly ships...
I enjoy it so much I spend much time playing, and am willing to take the time to write this feedback.
So are we.
What is not enjoyable is the constant harassment, trickery, and being taken advantage of by those who play only to harm others enjoyment of the game.
Do you mean being a pirate??
This disruptive behavior by those who are seeking PvP gameplay subsequently trains and conditions the PvE player to be anti-social, weary of meeting others, combative, and unable to take in your "environment".
It's a pirate game...if you don't want to fight anyone, play the Maiden Voyage.

No. That is a core function of Adventure.
@PabIo-Escobar Please refrain from making derogatory remarks directed at others in the community, as it is a violation of our forum rules. Your post has been removed accordingly.
your post to me roughly translates to "Lets play that pirate game where we cant pirate."
A huge part of the game to me is the pvp element.
Im actually very friendly and will try to alliance with people most of the time. Simply because its more profitably to alliance up with several people, possibly trade loot to another crew with a different emessary.By adding more pve content Rare has already dramatically reduced the pvp in adventure and somewhat encourages players to work together.
But the treat of betrayal is what keeps it interesting.
Killing a fort is fun. but killing a galleon that tried to steal your loot after is priceless
@lady-aijou
There are plenty of breaches of community rules that go on in these forums. You guys pick and choose when you feel like intervening. No consistency at all. Just rule with an iron fist huh.
@spacialagent This will never happen. Rare have said it time and time again. You bought a PvP game, deal with the PvP. Or simply, git gud.
