@bugaboo-bill It's pretty simple really, compete but don't take yourself too seriously. If you lose you lose, if you win you win, don't be a d**k about it.

If you lose, don't be salty about it and complain that people are playing the game.
If you win, be gracious, congratulate your opponents on a game well played and try to leave it as a positive experience for everyone.

Your competency in a game doesn't make you better or worse than anyone else, we're all here to have fun at the end of the day, so long as your fun doesn't take away from others' unnecessarily. Be sporting, be kind to your fellow players, don't treat people badly because they're not as good as you and don't victimize people just for the sake of it.

Basically, don't be a d**k.

Being competitive is a mindset could only assume the meaning of it all is strive for first place but don't worry about getting sunk or coming in second

@bugaboo-bill just to clarify the videos you linked to; the other teams was actually insulting summit first and then he talks back in the same manner as they were. Of you've ever watched summit stream you'll see that he doesnt just go off trash talking other people without a reason. Now i cant say that this is 100% but it is close. I even watched him stream in some of those clips. The 2nd video you're linking to the clips are totally out of context its pretty much like watching fake news where they can clip out what they want to show you.

@bugaboo-bill personally i wouldnt care if people was toxic to me, matter of fact i wouldnt even say anything back. 99% of the time i dont even speak/write ingame. The way i am and see the world is very different from most people. I know they are (as i would call it) brainwashed by society and therefore act in a certain way.

  About summit talking back in the same manner i can understand a bit more than just start out with being toxic. I do not agree with starting out being toxic or responding in a toxic way but i think that if people start trash talking i dont see the problem if they are getting talked back at negatively.
  I just dont care how other people behave.
  As i also said somthing like, in a earlier post you made; if we wanted to change how people behave online being toxic etc. It doesnt start on some random game forum on the internet, no matter how many posts there will be created regarding this subject. It is like 'outside of gaming': the more talk there was about bullying the more it happend.

I suggest you to read into 'theta hypnosis' if you wanna find some real answers.
Short hint: the more we promote anything (talk about somthing) both negatively and positivly it will manifest and become our reality.

@capt-kanna I have seen several of his vids where he is toxic for sure. Especially his treatment of kids. And while he sure tries to behave in game chat, his "off line" or behind the scenes chat is definitely toxic.

@nofears-fun what he does "behind the scene" does it matter here? I havent watched everything from summit but from what i have seen i dont think he is this toxic monster, people make him out to be.

@nofears-fun oh and forgot "he's treatment of kids" i havent seen anything bad there either unless kids been toxic first. I have seen him troll kids where he hides on their ship and move chests around. Even he's stream chat usually goes on telling him to be nice or not..

I think we have bad news for you here. Means that you're most likely less special or different than you're estimating yourself and that there are also more not so less intelligent (forum filter won't let me use that harmless word but ok) people than you're imagining.
Maybe in your specific case are good reasons that back up your claim, but we all need to be careful when putting this fancy hat on ourselves. Just as a side note.

Still, thumbs up for you not caring about other people's trashy behaviour, this alone could solve soo much problems for some people.

he got very tilted when i questioned his crusade about how toxicity ruins everything

this discussion lasted two days hes literally unable to understand people

so bad he became a part of the problem he hated

just ignore him save time ^^

The problem is not so much whether we are prepared to accept 'toxicity' but more so different individuals perception of 'toxicity' in the context of a Pirate game.
