It's just an idea but hear me out
What happens to most players after hitting rank 50 with the hunters call they stop putting effort to that faction because there isn't really a reason to but I have a solution if a player acquires the tittle legendary hunter of the sea of thieves tittle (which is very demanding being you need every commendation for the hunters)
They would unlock a curse called the shipwrecked curse which would infuse the character with barnacles and or seaweed or even fish scales as I said just an idea

This is actually a really good idea. I know it says you give all consent and stuff posting here, but rare if you do decide to do this, you should give this guy some kind of something for it. It would make a lot of people want to fish more. It gets boring and I’m sorry but the killer whale ship looks like 💩 so this would actually make me wanna fish more.

Furthermore, you can't ask or take credit for an idea here, even if you're the 1 who originally posted it - when this forum was started, a sticky was posted that is still there today that essentially says that by agreeing to post here, you also agree to the terms of not taking credit for an idea that is posted here. I'm sorry, but this superceded your claim and officially makes it null and void. Therefore, you shall cease and decist immediately - it's not your credit to take.
@galactic-geek he didn’t say anything of the sort, he even said he doesn’t want credit he just would like for it to happen. Dang, it’s not that big of a deal.

A lot of what you're asking for we already have - just not in cursed form. Want barnacles? Use the Wailing Barnacle cosmetic set. Want seaweed? Try green-dyed hair. Want scales? Try the Splashtail Monarch cosmetic costume.

I'm all for fleshing out the Hunters Call faction with more to offer the players.

I have been looking forward to a Merfolk-like curse for a while now. Realistically, I think they'll add something like it when the game starts exploring more Merfolk lore. Hey, uh... Guys? Something's happening to me... 😲
3 days ago, my crew got attacked by ghosts! It's true! Now our sails are starting to look pretty ghostly themselves! That night they changed color as the worst ghost of them all mercilessly taunted us. We taught him a lesson though. Then yesterday we fought a skeleton lord at the Shores of Gold. He was mad I tell you! Since I took some of his gold though, I fear the worst! I'm starting to see gold specks on my skin, and it's spreading fast. Today a friend and I found a long hidden vault wreathed in fire. Luckily we survived it - but at what cost? I do not yet know, but I'm starting to feel a burning in my chest, just behind my ribs...

Day 2 - Gold Hoarder curse
Day 3 - Heart of Fire curseIt's been a really busy week... 😅
