Fishing whilst sailing

    It doesnt make sense that a splashtail would be racing along under the sea chasing a bit of bail trailing from a ship.

    Instead why not introduce a new type of fish that hunts this way?

    No longer you will catch the regular fish whilst trailing over the side of a ship at full sail. Instead you will catch a new fish called the Speed Gill.

    It looks similar to a sword fish or barracuda but comes in many different sizes and colours.

    Therefore the fish you catch whilst moving quickly on a ship look built for speed.
    It just makes more sense.

    You can still catch the normal fish when the ship is stationary or going at a slow speed, but when going fast you can catch the new Speed Gill fish.

    You only ever caught splash tails anyways in open water usually so this will just make more sense and not take anything away.

    @daringclarky Eh. They already have 50 different types of fish. They would also have to change the commendations around.

    I quite like the idea but how would Rare add this to the game and add all the new gear and accommodationns

    I'm well aware of this.
    But are we seriously going to let a commendation stop the addition of new content now are we?

    Well they get paid a wage to work on this full time.
    Im sure they could figure it out.

    I don't think it would be too difficult mind. You use the same gear the only difference is they make a script where the fish can only be caught or found whilst going slow or stationary and a script where when the opposite is happening it replaces the fish that can be caught with speed gills.

    1 extra fish type, a handful of new commendations. I think it would be pretty simple for them. Given that modders of other games have done far more complex things I'm pretty sure a rare employee could have it implemented in just a few short days if not sooner. Especially if its a team effort.

    @daringclarky as I like the idea of new fishes and of the idea of this specific fish, it would be a pain as a solo slooper to get them...

    @schwammlgott You could just do it in a large open area and you should be fine. Even if you hit a rock you still have maybe 3 minutes or so?

    But yeah, id like to catch some new fishies.

    Catch all the other fish first then tell me you want to keep fishing
